I skimmed through the comments, so I don't think this has been already said, but Bishoujo is a Japanese word meaning "cute girl". Kotobukiya (the makers of the Liara statue and I'm assuming this one, too) have a whole line of them with different characters for different series. The whole purpose is to make them the cutesy, anime girl style. Personally, I don't care for them. The Liara one is alright, I guess because that's essentially what Liara is supposed to pander to in the first place. (I know, I know, she's more complicated then that, but she still does tend to appeal to that aesthetic.) This one is really really just ridiculous, though. Why do we need a cutesy Shepard? Sadly, the one point it has going for it is that both this and the Liara statue are the best looking of the ones they have......I really wouldn't mind if Kotobukiya did versions of these that weren't the Bishoujo style.

I like this one much more than the Liara one. I still have to see the actual model, but it's already better than the Liara artwork, let alone the model.

Because making figures that you don't like makes Mass Effect no longer an epic space opera?  Like I said, Kotobukiya does this with all series they can get their hands on.

I really, really, really want a femshep figure. However, Bishoujo? No thanks. I'll give it a second look when it is actually out. But the art looks like it ruins her for me.

Seriously you bring up Star Wars? Lucas made the marketing for optional crap we do not need in models, toys, lunchboxes, clothing, statues like those, and crappy spin off movies.

I would not be surprised if Harry Potter or LoTR get something like this cause it makes money, and as people have told me; money talks.
