The figure's artwook seems nice but I would rather like a Tali version instead.

obviously some people here are completely unaware of how popular anime/manga figures are...and this cross-over with western IP's like ME, Marvel, DC and Star Wars is a great money spinner...

dont knock what you dont understand...you may not like it but that doesnt give you the right to put down anyone who does

and personally I cant wait for this, I love this guy's work

Because BioWare wasn't actively objectifying the women of Mass Effect enough, they literally make the principal woman of Mass Effect into a sexualized figurine—a literal sex object. Honestly, how did I ever think these guys weren't 13-year-olds?

What's to understand? Some dudes like to beat off to depictions of nubile young women. Overtly sexualized, VERY youthful young women. What's to understand? I suppose you think Hustler is "art" too. Your avatar speaks volumes, BTW.

i don't really like the shift to anime-style either but some ppl like it and will buy it

the real question is why BW went to a Japanese company and not an American/Western one

Because American/Western companies can't make figures for crap.

Take these two Garrus figures for example.

American-made: fc04.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/338/e/9/garrus_figure_by_ravette2004-d348778.jpg

Japanese-made: 28.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m2ggblBBT71r0qkbxo3_1280.jpg

Yeah.  The Play Arts Kai Garrus wins.  Square-Enix may not be able to make a good video game anymore, but they can make damn good figures.  I just hope there's a FemShep in the works for the future, along with Tali and Liara.

Until then, we have this statue.  I've enjoyed the artwork designs that have accompanied the Bishoujo line, but have yet to buy one(though Lucy the Ghostbuster was on my list).  That's going to change.

The face of that Play Arts Kai Garrus looks horrible, and nothing like Garrus.
The American one (Don't know what company) isn't that good either, but the face looks more like Garrus than the Play Arts one.

So, you'll see my snap judgement and raise me a snap judgement? Good call. You're still giving off major douche vibes regardless. Did that come off too Femi****?

Anyway, back on subject...
I own a lot of anime, have watched even more, read manga...and I still don't like it.
It feels out of character for FemShep. Miranda, Liara, Elcor diplomat...maybe. But not FemShep.

God forbid they ever make a male figure bend and pose like that, eh?

Ooh, hot damn.

And here I thought rest of the pages were only full of rage and bickering.

Interesting. I think the artwork is actually pretty good, as was the one for the Liara statue, imo. I find it funny, however, that it reminds me more of default femshep of ME1 and 2 than 3.

I do think that female players who are uncomfortable with Shepard being depicted in such a cutesy, sexualized manner have a viable argument. But then, as a male, I tend to find the corresponding style, bishounen, equally revolting, no matter which character is depicted. The way to deal with this is to remember that these artstyles cater to very specific target audiences, which one isn't necessarily a part of and part their appeal is that they show subject matter in a way it really isn't (kinda, in the loosest possible terms, like classical greek statues did).

That said: I find these statues to be a waste of space and money anyway.

Is this another chapter in your inane women are treated favourably compared to men in video games delusion?

Because that would just be precious.

Indeed not.

It would be if FemShep would look the latter, alas she does not.

But of course one exception does not make my opinion wrong - I am still right, and you are a sad person to gloat and rage still, days after the thread was locked.

Wow, renouncing the notion of the existence of any kind of intrinsic value in the universe over two video game characters?
That's a new one... and kinda hardcore, I have to admit.

But not to worry. Once you get over the thought how pathetic your life was before you faced the great nothing, it ain't all that bad. That's what worked for me, anyway ;)
