ME2 Femshep codes don't work properly in ME3 as mentioned. I was very dissapointed in the ME3 character creation for femshep. First of all, they changed the original look for femshep but kept the same male shep appearance from ME1-3. I do not find the new femshep attractive at all. The CC is in fact identical to ME2 so I'm already very experience in making the best looking femshep. However, I was not possible to make an attractive distinctive good looking femshep. Hairstyle choices were poor, most of them are either really out of fashion or awkward looking except two. The main problem lies in eye shadow under makeup section. The eye liner needs to be thicker/bolder and the eye lashes needs to extend a little more for femshep eyes to really pop out. In ME2 you were able to create some really stunning beautiful eyes for femshep but not in ME3. ME3 femshep creation looks really really plain and boring to look at. I hope this is only an issue in the demo and hopefully we could properly import our ME2 femshep in ME3. As of now, I see no hope in making a standout good looking femshep in ME3.
Here is the link to ME2 faces profiles: you'll be amazed at the stunning gorgeous faces that some people are able to make in ME2. www.masseffect2faces.com/
Click option for Female and sort by rating.
ME3 CC for femshep is no where close to those look possible. Very sad indeed.

Not right, not right at all. Hopefully the full game doesn't do this.... hopefully. Thing is, all characters in ME3 look a bit different then they did in the two previous games.

ME1>ME2=SAME

ME2>ME3=NOT SAME NOT SAME

I've tried four different face codes because that's what I have from ME2. Two looked reasonably similar, the other two were off. I think it's mostly because the eyes have been changed. One of my Femsheps looks almost unrecognizable.

It's kind of annoying because I spent a lot of time getting them right in ME2, but on the other hand, it seems like overall the custom faces look much smoother and animate better, so the whole thing's been overhauled, and it's not surprising this happened.

It's very annoying. I've had the same Shepard since 2007. Having her mangled by the ME3 importer would be so disappointing.

Thing is... Bioware must've known that people would try to use their facecodes in the demo. You'd think they would have warned us beforehand, or at least had a response ready when people like me started coming to the forum, asking what was going on.

I am confident the CC discrepancy is symbolic of the entire demo...and will be laughable come March 6th. I hope...

....

This is what, the second time they've done a demo (on time, anyway)... You shouldn't expect them to be on the ball yet.

It looks like a couple of tweaks for most people are what's needed to get their Shepards back. You're probably fine.

My guy went from good looking to one handsome looking son of a gun. I feel for you people who got the short end of the stick but hey! Maybe when the game actually comes out and it comes down to a direct save transfer it will be more true to past material!

People are jumping the gun, they aren't actualy importing their Shepards they are just trying to recreate them using their old codes.

Of course face codes aren't going to work properly. With new options for eye color, hair color, hair style etc the codes correspond differently. The import will take this into account and preserve your ME2 face. A dev confirmed this on the twitter page a couple days ago.

I'll try to confirm this for myself later, but if I use the sliders and not the code for my ME1/ME2 face(s), will they turn out correct? Will probably spend much of the night tweaking faces for funsies.

Hey everyone, I was wondering if other people felt the same way, at least for me the preset I use for customization doesn’t seem to be there, so I tried the code from ME2 and came out weird, I hope they fix this before the real game comes out, does anybody now if it's because of the demo????

The codes are different! Your import should work fine.

This is the only problem I have, and it's bothering me. I put my code in and I get someone else, practically. I really hope this isn't a issue with importing in the full game. I will be very disappointed if I can't use my original Shepard I created back in 2007.

Sure, I'll be fine if there are some slight modifications, but I don't want to spend my first hour on ME3 trying to recreate my original Shepard.

Hahah, of course that's how voting works, a small percentage of the target audience know about the vote, then a smaller percentage vote, then a smaller percentage cast the winning vote, then everyone in the target audience magically agrees with the winning vote. Haha, priceless.

I didn't know about the vote till after it had closed, but I like the winner. Just not as much as my Femshep.

And again, I started this thread with tongue in cheek. It's meant for laughs, not serious debate. {face palm}

I dunno, I thought they made a big enough deal out of the vote for it to at least reach everyone that posts here. I have to agree with Hellbound555 here, it's just another case of people on this board complaining about absolutely everything, no matter what.

Okay enough of the "preorder cancelled" joke. Sigh.

I hope that hasn't happened with the game. Then again my canon character Rachael Shepard looks different in Mass Effect 1 compared with Mass Effect 2 because I got ME 1 on PC and ME 2 on PS3. So if she looks different again, it won't bother me too much. Still the same character.

The codes change. The importer knows how to adapt though. Unfortunately, some options are taken away. I was disappointed to discover that my Shepard can't have the same eyebrow scar as me anymore.

You have to manually adjust the face code... but you can get her looking like she did in prior games (with hair possibly being the only thing different)..

Link and quote please. This has me quite worried, and that kind of confirmation would be very helpful. I don't just want your word for it, I want to see it.

Scars went out the window with ME2, duder.

I've been doing some fiddling with the character creator this afternoon because I had work to procrastinate, and so far what I've figured out is this:

-eyes look fairly different, especially Femshep
-slider numbers for iris and hair color don't match (on both, I think, but maybe somebody can confirm this)
-male mouth shapes are either in a different order or look different; I'm pretty sure it's the former
-most Femshep hairdos have been heavily reworked; this includes the forehead shapes that go with them and results in different looking faces

My impression is that it's the different foreheads and reworked eyes that account for most of the differences. I recreated my ME1/ME2 Shepards from the ground up using the sliders and the ME2 codes as a reference, so I doubt this will be any different in the final game.
