Consolitis is the bane of PC players. Do bioware think we sit 20 meters from our monitor?

Hmm, can live with it so far, however, sometimes the crosshair stucks in Shepard's shoulders so I can't see what I'm aiming at. That's especially an issue when looking RIGHT around a corner while standing.

However, that's an issue which can be fixed by tweaking easily.

Besides that: I support a FoV-setting for PC users. ME2 was a tad better ... ^^

The reason why FoV isn't an industry norm is that PC is only a single arm of the game which many people disregard as being inconsequential. FoV is limited to reduce the amount of game which needs to be rendered on these VERY OLD consoles which are still used.

it is sad. I mean i was playing as a Turian in multiplayer and he takes up half the screen when shooting from cover.

Game developers, especially ones with a large console market, simply refuse to achknowledge the fact that FoV is a huge issue on PC ports (lets be honest. Mass Effect is a console ported to PC in ninety percent of it's entirety)

+1 for adjustable FOV. It's hardly bearable the way it is right now. WHich is sad cause the MP itself is quite fun.

I think it is only partially reduce the amount being rendered on screen. The other half is, with a "high" FOV, because the typical console player is sitting much further away from the screen, targets in the center of the screen are harder to see/aim at. When you are sitting in front of a monitor with a low FOV, the result is it feels unpleasantly cramped. I'm not usually who is affected by this, but I expect because I was used to the higher FOV to search/find/explore stuff in ME1/ME2 it really became apparent now.

I'm very sensitive to motion sickness caused by low POV's. I couldn't play Fallout 3 until I found the config tweak. For some reason ME2 didn't affect me even though the FOV is ridiculously low.

Agreed that a FOV option is necessary. Playing the demo made me very dizzy.

I admit I did feel a bit... sick while playing it. My head hurt after a while and that never happened with me on other games.

Then buy a 27" monitor and run 2560x1080... Lol.

You have no idea how FOV works. That will only make things even worse with a narrow FOV. If FOV cannot be fixed then there can only be two solutions:

1. Get a small-sized monitor.

2. Sit much farther away from the monitor.

Ok, then you be sick playing the game, while I enjoy the crap out of it!!!

Lowering the vertical resolution will increase the FOV horizontally.

We are more susceptible to this then vertical FOV.

Againg I stick by my first saying that running at 1920x810 is 100% worth the trade off, if you won't get sick playing the game.
BTW... I do understand how FOV works and am the only member that is giving positive results with my so called tweak.

Ehm, What we are asking for is a option for setting the fov we want, nothing else. We are not out to get somekind of permanent fov change which will affect everyone.

Remember when Bioware used to be a PC developer?

I have no problems with them making console games, but how about showing some respect to your loyal customers instead of treating us like crap?

Was possible in ME2 by modifying Coalesced.ini

Now there is a Coalesced.bin in the ME3 BioGame folder... it's in binary format and possibly encrypted because of the Multiplayer.

Well, there is a FOV flag in there. I'll try and see if anything happens when it is changed.

Is this FOV issue present on bigger monitors? I'm only using a 19' 1366x768 monitor.

Yes.  FOV is very dependent upon the size of your monitor and the distance you are viewing it from.    Generally, you want your FOV on the screen to match the the size of your screen in your actual visual field of view.

I use a 40" HDTV as my monitor and sit about 5-6 feet back.   The screen fills about 75% of my visual field, which for people is about 120 degrees, hence a 90 degree FOV would make it feel normal for my brain not to complain.
Sure, I COULD rearrange my room and sit farther back, so that the the FOV is correct, but on higher resolutions, its already difficult to see the tiny HUD and subtitles.   Its much easier if game developers just include a simple variable in a config file that can be changed.

Don't worry TotalBiscuit is gonna come after this one for FoV too.

I am about damn ready for the ps4 and xbox 720 so my pc can have the graphical options it deserves!

Bioware-you originally were a pc developer but each new game you put out, gets worse and worse with option on pc.  including swtor >_<

+1 for adjustable FOV
(or at least easy access and modding possibilities to the Coalesced file so we can change it there)

adjustable FOV should be standard in every game, workarrounds link lowering the resolution is just not acceptable.

so please fix this til release.

Luckily I didn't feel dizzy or nauseous, but the FOV was still off, like I was missing a lot going on around me.

No fix like a Native FOV slider, but...

Current Solutions:

1. Lower vertical resolution to get desired horivontal FOV
2. Buy a non-standard aspect ratio display

Example:
a. http://www.vizio.com...nemawide/specs/
b. http://www.bit-tech....tors_go_curvy/1

Oh and guess what... My soultions will work for almost every game made.... ;)
