Too busy making more worthless DLC.  The FOV in this game is absolutely abysmal and won't get fixed at all.

They really need to look into this and at least put in a Fov slider in the options menu,

I really hope they have some kind of comment on this, even if it's not the one I want to hear... but I quite simply cannot play the game at the demo FoV. The nausea and headache would be far, far too much to handle.

So I really need to know, because I cannot pre-order/purchase the game unless that changes, no matter how BADLY I want the game.

I suppose I could wait until it releases, and then see if it's changed, or see if other players can mod it... but it would be really nice to know before-hand. Is that too much to ask for? I mean, I want to pre-order the game! But no way will I be able to if I know that I will not be able to play it in Demo condition.

So what's the deal Bioware? You've deleted the posts that actually tried to fix a MASSIVE issue for PC gamers (FOV) and you are still yet to give any official word on this problem?

Can we please get some decent support for this platform!? Hell, just say something, like you are investigating the issue... anything is better than just ignoring us.

I gotta say... out of all the complaining people do, asking for an adjustable FOV seems to be a incredibly reasonable thing to ask for

FoV is my only grip against the awesome Mass Effect 3 combat, I hope BioWare listen to us.

ME2 post release showed how much they care about PC gamers. So don't get your hopes up.

I'm hoping for a better FOV as well. Heck I'd even concede my gripe about the holster situation for it.

Probably not, but there still is a large chunk of players who are bothered by the FOV, to the point of motion sickness.

With PC's, a fixed FOV just doesn't work. People sit different distances away from their monitors of different sizes, so locking it in at console's FOV of 70 just doesn't work. A FOV setting should be implemented in ANY PC game released after 2000, but it seems console ports are pulling everything backwards in terms of settings.

you may not be bothered.. which is fine..

but having played PC games for the last 18 years... where the standard for games has always been FOV of 90 when 4:3/5:4 ratio monitors were common, and since the widescreen monitors came into existance, an FOV of anywhere between 95-110 FOV was accepted standard (obviously consideirng we gained wider view), HOW pc games have made a massive failure essentially RUNNING backwards in these accepted standards is beyond me.

The only reason that any developer has used such a narrow view is due to one simple fact:

Consoles are underpowered for the task, narrowing the FOV significantly requires less to be drawn/shown on the screen therefore you can cram more detail into a small space rather than making the game look 1999 by running widescreen in order to keep the fps at 24-30 fps.

This is something that doesn't effect PC users, however they impose this same restriction on pc gamers due to a rediculious reason... Console players have a tendency to whine about how their game isn't the same as the pc version. Yet these idiots tend to forget that of course it isn't, it'll never be, running true 1080p or higher resolution, various levels of additional enhancements, lets not forget the countless mods and manual adjustments we can make to the game at core game files level (untill they encrypted them.. sigh).

I personally cannot stand an FOV of anything less than 80-85, and even then it's irritating. I've modded my ME1 and ME2 game to run at 100fov (setting higher than 100 typically doesn't work, just maxes out at 100 fov anyways)

Those that play on their big screen tvs sitting relatively close using a PC... in which the tv fills their entire field of view, and i've done it, an FOV of 120 or even higher is very excellent. Feels like your in the game because the important part are basically to scale and look right, and the minimal amount of "fish eye" effect that occurs isn't really detected because the outside edges of your feild of view compensate and make it look like it's real, picking up the movements and detail like it was real.

Part 1
Part 2

Short Version: FOV is the angle of your view. If it is too narrow and you sit too close to your screen, the FOV of the game does not match a natural FOV and your brain is going crazy.

It does not affect everybody equally, some people are not bothered at all, some feel uncomfortable and dizzy and some even get headaches and feel really sick.

Most console games have a FOV of 60° which is fine if you sitting 3m from your screen, but if you sit 0,5-1m form your screen on a PC, you should play at 90-100°.

Every game should have a Option to costumize FOV, just like you can change your resolution.

Yes, it is Field of View. If you like photography you will understand it with this example: a narrow FoV means to look the world through a telephoto lens, it's not natural, human vision has a wider angle, we request wider angles, like wide angle lens.

Perception of FoV is very personal and different. Some persons suffer motion sickness with the effect of head bobbing in most modern videogames, the narrow FoV increases this effect. For others is tiresome to explore the scene with this narrow, claustrophobic camera.

If you don't feel it this way is ok, for others is a huge issue, that's why we request customization, a FoV slider or files tweaking.

I find it hilarious that more and more FPS game maker and action gamer designers.. think its realistic to hate ridiculous giraffe like FOVS.
Im sorry but I'm having a HARD TIME believing that; having a viewpoint (like your head is floating infront of your body for 3-4 feet) like a giraffe is "realistic"

Totally agree. First there's no comment on the FOV issue fix, and then when some gamers try to fix it themselves, Bioware decides to delete all the posts. I would have thought that a company like Bioware with its roots in PC gaming would understand the idea of gamers modding their games.

Actually there was a comment from one of the devs on Twitter. I think it was Corey Gaspur (combad designer) who said the camera placement was carefully considered and that increasing the FOV will not increase the visual quality. This is BS of course, but at least we got an answer.

The most people don't want to change the FOV to get a better "visual quality", they just don't want to get sick...

also, increasing the FOV does not change the camera position, just saying...

Things like this make me wonder how someone manages to breath without a brain in their head.
