Not sure if this is the right forum but as it is right now the audio levels are just too quiet. I had the same problem with Mass Effect 2 but it wasn't that bad in that game. In the demo though I feel like I'm playing the game at 50% volume. I'm playing on PC with headphones connected at max volume so it's not like I can just crank my speaks up a bit.
I could never understand why games will give you options to adjust audio levels but put all the defaults at 100%. Well what if the defaults are too low? Could you maybe keep the audio levels as they are but make it so that the slider is at 50% (or I suppose some other level) by default so we can make the game louder.
To clarify I don't feel that the audio levels are inconsistant, just too low. Well, they might be inconsistant but I can't tell unless it's a bit louder.
Game is too quiet

I'm having this problem too. Got the volume turned to 11 and I still can't hear a damn thing.

It's not too quiet so I can't hear... but with headphones at max volume I still feel like it could go up a few notches, definitely.

I think I found the problem... the game doesn't support 5.1 surround. I'm using 5.1 speakers and the sound doesn't come out of all the speakers. Same thing with headphones...

Strange... For me 5.1 works good (but quiet).
If Liara or Garrus are saying something behind me the sound come from back speakers, and in ''normal'' (cutscene) dialogs the sound is coming from center speaker, and music plays in 2 front speakers + subwoofer, so all is good for me.
I use soundcard on my hd 6970 to my receiver via hdmi.

The sound was quiet on my PC too. Just have headphones plugged into a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium. Had to double the volume on my Windows volume panel.
