I've had big luck with packs. So far I have a Krogan Soldier, Drell Vanguard and Quarian Engineer. I've also unlocked cards for Human Soldier and Human Engineer.

I should mention that I got the Quarian in my Starter pack, so it IS possible to get something good in the Recruits and starters, just not likely.

As a person who has been using both packs a lot, I can say that you are more likely to unlock guns and classes from the Veteran pack. Buuuuut, recruit packs have nice goodies in them too if you are lucky.

My Human Soldier is great aswell. Usually with my Krogan I go Snipers/Assault Rifle and with my Human I got Shotgun/Assault. I might change that up soon as I'm realizing my Krogan can take a lot more damage than my Human.

only the hornet and claymore were from vet packs
am I realllly lucky? Sounds kind of abnormal from all thin kavetching on the forums...

Bought nothing but veteran, got zip. Switched to recruit and have looted a lot of human crap, and one drell, but I'm well within the 100k-something in spending and haven't unlocked a single customization for the turian I only play with.

I was lucky enough to get the Krogan Soldier in my starter pack (360) and a friend of mine got the Salarian Infiltrator in his (PC)

Update for those hopefuls
out of the veteran pack, Ive unlocked a Quarian engineer, Krogan soldier, Turian Sentinel, and a drell vanguard.
Plus some experience points for those same classes! Main reason is if you read each pack description, it says the recruit pack has a chance for an uncommon, while the veteran guarantees at LEAST one uncommon
thats why its the best bet.

I was about to power down for the night when the last vet pack I opened gave me that krogan soldier, and HOLYYYYYY **** that guy is AWESOME! I must have a played at least a couple extra hours just with him lol

Unlocked 4-5 Veteran packs, no recruit packs. No species unlocks, but some nice weapons and stuff. I find it quite easy to save up money for Veteran unlocks so keep going for those.

i bought a lot of both packs and i seem to get the best stuff from the vet packs (widowmaker sr, quarian engi and drell something)

I just got the widow sniper rifle from a veteran pack and it's so op it kills guardians by just shooting the shield.

I can't wait until i get a krogan and quarian. I've bought 3 vet packs with no luck, and so far have only gotten the mattock (which got nerfed real bad)

The only new races I've gotten so far are the drell Vanguard, asari Adept, and salarian Infiltrator, all from the Vet pack.

Recruit packs are good for starting out.

But in the long run Veteran packs give better results.
