I knew the game was going to have it's fair share of cheese, but that demo contained some of the most ham-fisted dialougue I've ever seen in a bioware game. I mean it was just filled with dumb one liners and stilted conversations.
Is this what I can expect the rest of the game to be like?

It's only a demo? Dragon Age 2 springs to mind.

oh please, that's what people always say. How much things get fixed after a demo? not much, take BF3 for example. In fact the release was worse then the demo/beta.

.......

I personally didn't notice any ham fisted dialogue or dumb one liners. Ya know except for the standard things.

Any specific examples you'd like to share?

and YES for the UMPTEENTH time the convos were cut to avoid spoilers. Honestly after 2 great games with good writing in both... I'm not too worried. If you are.... have a smoke and relax

I'm hoping that this was a case of "If you haven't played Mass Effect before, the game re-writes itself for you."

The characters felt a bit out of character and i've had less ham in all the ham sandwhiches i've eaten in the last 6 months, the dialogue was missing a lot (I really hope).

But otherwise - here is hoping its just because its the tutorial level and wanted to get it out of the way as quick as possible - it was very much desgined to be a visual spectacle.

quality of writing? well, there was some cheese, but it's a demo as earlier mentioned, I just hope for less cheese when we're on earth when Shepard is prognosticating vague advice to the three person panel.

Really it depends on the type of cheese. Not really a fan of munster.

As to the quality of writing...well the previous two games had ham fisted or corny one-liners. I wasn't expecting ME3 to be any different. As far as stilted conversations, I do believe they cut dialogue out in order to get under the 2 gig limit for demos on Xbox Live.

I'm not ready to sell the overall writing short. They did afterall do a pretty good job in 2 and I absolutely loved the writing in Lair of the Shadow Broker. But that's just one Geth's opinion.

Op the writing sucks because the story has no weight to it . there is no reason to care because Bioware spent 2 games as nothing more than a set up to this and now they want us to care about the war that should have started in the first game .

name and explain why certain lines are bad/ cheesy + back up your argument with rational reasoning rather than opinion otherwise im not gonna see your point.

honestly half of the people who complain about story/writing couldnt write to save their lives.

I don't know. I think Wrex should have dropped down on the base like that ATLAS. Either or he should landed on a Salarian. Image IPB
