Oh great, another thread about one of the following subjects:

- Bioware catering to console noobs;
- Bioware catering to loyal fanboys;
- Bioware catering to newer fans, but neglecting “old”, “loyal”, and “old school” fans;
- Bioware bowing down do to the wishes of their EA overlords;
- This game is going to be the worst Bioware game ever!!!111!!! Just look at *insert random game here*!!!!
- Dumbing down of RPG elements;
- This game does not have the things that I want;
- This game is not similar to it’s predecessor.

All of these points can be boiled down to one

- Bioware isn't catoring to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

This thread is awesome ! BSN keep it up! You are becoming worse than Bungie.net... and thats not a good sign B)

I expected Casey Hudson for ME3, not Shakespeare. But then TOR happened and ME2 and 3 got a bunch of ****s for writers. And now we get **** instead of 2 decent sequels of what started out as a promising new IP.

I bet most of the people complaining about the writing are the same people who obsess over the "romance" in Bioware games, even though it's written about as well as the "romance" in Twilight. Hypocrisy, thy name is BSN.

Did you read Twilight?
I did and I can say with 99.9% certainty that you are wrong.

As a wise man once said - the devil is in the details.

If you simplify every story enough, they will ALL sound bad and cliche. No excpetions.

Bad and cliche wasn't the point. It was being an action movie. The whole grounding shepard sequence and council obstruction, Garrus being a cop who hates red tape, and the Spectre organization being a thin excuse for action heroism and council obstruction all stand on their own without reduction.

ME1 was trying to be an action movie from the word go.

Sorry, I disagree.

I wont' postulate on what ME1 was (because it's nto easy to define), but I will tell you that ME2 FELT DIFFERENT.
I will also tells you that hte ME3 demo feels different.

As many strides as BioWare makes recently in some areas, I see steps back in areas that I personally find more important.

You don't see me gushing at the good stuff, because I don't think it's necessary and fixing what is bad is more important.

If you refer to only the shooty bits? Maybe. Even that is questionable.

If you refer to the writing?  ROFL!!!!:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

ME1 is much better than ME2 in my opinion. The only thing ME2 does better is combat and I don't play ME games for that. I was very disappointed that ME2 went the route it did however when you get over the fact it's not an RPG, you can see it's still a great game. I'm sure either way, ME3 will also be a great game. Too many fans expected Baldur's gate in space and that was never the intention of the Series.

Well yes. It's not a dispute of my point. Lethal Weapon, Transformers, and the latest Star Trek all FEEL DIFFERENT. It doesn't mean they're not all action movies.

Action has breadth. ME1 took more cues from the 90s.

I knew the game was going to have it's fair share of cheese, but that demo contained some of the most ham-fisted dialougue I've ever seen in a bioware game. I mean it was just filled with dumb one liners and stilted conversations.
Is this what I can expect the rest of the game to be like?

Thanks Hemingway, not one piece of constructive criticism backed up by examples of rational thought, just another raging demagogue throwing toys out of the pram over a demo.

Don't know about you, but ME 1 was above average, not phenominal.  Products which aspire to Niche Markets never become phenominal.

At this point I would be happy if ME3 is Jade Empire in Space...

I loved the dialog between Shepard and Anderson but the scene with the council was a little lackluster. I wish Shepard had laid it on them just how screwed they were. Not only are the Reapers more advanced but they have been committing genocide every 50,000 years for millions of years. Not to mention that they can turn you or your friends against each other with indoctrination. There is no negotiating with them. Surrender is not an option. They mean to kill us or enslave us and then kill us when they have no further use for us. I also would have added after the we fight or we die part that Shepard warned them all along and they chose to sit around and do nothing.

Other then that I thought the demo was awesome.

ME1's writing wasn't much different than ME2's.

In fact I'd argue it's gotten better.
