Nobody's commenting on how they should write.
Everybody's just saying it's bad.
At least Bioware knows quite well the meaning of "cliches" though.
There are plenty of people commenting on how they should write and their examples of how scenes could be done "better". Also, if you are not a rocket scientist and have no idea how rockets function or how they are built, then you really shouldn't be commenting on how it should be made.
But we're not talking about rocket science here, we're talking about 12th grade quality writing.
I'm disappointed with the quaity of writing present in the demo.

No you don't, but you should know what good writing is if you want to complain about bad writing, which isn't the case for many people around here.

With a bit of common sense, one can figure out that games of substantial story-line and demos don't go hand-in-hand without having to give up some major spoilers and even still a demo could never capture all of what the full game would have in store... considering the task at hand, the demo was great.... but still, just a "demo"
There's a reason reviewers don't typically give demos a rating in their official lists.........

I don't even need to be able to READ to figure out that "WE FIGHT OR WE DIE DERP" or "IT'S NOT ABOUT STRATEGY HURP" is bad.. BAD writing for god's sake.

Just listen to Samara or Legion's dialogue.
There is some classy stuff.
Samara's character is written almost like poetry.
"I am a ruined vessel of sorrow & regret."
Now go play in traffic and let everyone else enjoy positive things about a game we're excited about.

This. I don't think people understand the concept of a demo. A demo is supposed to be a small slice of a finished product. Not A small slice of a still-to-be-worked-on product. That would be a beta.

What you just mentioned was not in the demo, ME3 and has nothing to do with this threat. Because we know that Bioware can do much better we are disappointed. That is only natural.

It isn't about reviewers though, it's about players. Who is going to want to buy the game if the demo fell below thier expectations? This is why reviewers have a job in the first place a second chance to promote a game after most gamers have made up their minds.

If you didnt complain about the dialogue in ME2, i doubt you will in this one. Seen the leak scripts, its at least on the same level, maybe better. At least in general, there are low points ofc. Positives outweight the negatives tough.
ME2 was bad in that regard too. This one looks worse.
Yeah its not like ME1 didnt have any cringe worthy moments. Oh wait, it did.
"Saren despises humanity, thats why he attacked Eden Prime!"
"In a battle today we will HOOLD THE LINE!"
"Mother! No! Dont leave, fight him!"
"Goodbye little wing"
"no light, they always said there would be....uuunghh"
"Maybe youre right, maybe there is still a chance to....URUUUUGH!! Im sorry, Sovereing is too strong, it is too late for me!"
"We will have a HUMAN council with a HUMAN chairman! Human! HUMAN HUMAN HUMAN!!!"
yet every one of these whiners eventually ALWAYS goes back to it when comparing, how amazing and wonderful the first game was and now everything is ****...
Let's face it ME1 wasnt exactly the best thing ever... Sequels have improved on lot of points. Like the combat.
Mass Effect 1 is the biggest piece of sh*t video game ever . the combat in that game is god awful . there is nothing good beside Wrex in that game . the dialogue in that game was ****** poor bad .
because I am a huge sci fi fan and plus the idea of a game where I can captian my own star ship is exciting but the story and dialogue is crap
So if you hate all of the ME games why are you here?

Remember that the demo is probably intended for ME newcommers. And perhaps to show off the gameplay changes to veterans.android654 wrote...

I'm really not too worried about the writing. It didn't stand out to me either, but it wasn't too bad. Inevitably, it's going to take some time for people to get used to the war register.
Demos are crappy for showing story and choice elements anyway, without the necessary context.

Because pointing out bad things prevent your from enjoying it, because yo ucan't wilfully ignore them as easily?
Or because the mere existance of poeple who don't like what you do ruins your day?
Really, I'm dying to know how us commenting prevents your from enjoying your game..

In the end, it all comes down to the fact that as much as you all complain, you're still going to buy the game. Bioware is still going to make their money, and all this complaining will be drawn up as useless. Just for a side note, nice lack of spelling and grammar when trying to make a valid point. It causes much laughter and shows your true intellect. This applies to everyone in this forum making these errors.

but I will tell you that ME2 FELT DIFFERENT.
Action has breadth. ME1 took more cues from the 90s.
ME1 felt like a space opera.
ME2 felt like Tramsformers 2.
that is harsh.
You're telling me there is nothing good in ME2 whatsoever?
Because there was nothing good in transformers 2 whatsoever.
If it was really like that then I wouldn't be here for 3 because I sure as hell didn't bother with Transformers 3.

As I said in another thread, it's hilarious seeing the people who complain about the writing and then show their attempts at writing a scene. Most people here have no idea what good writing is, and that goes double for the fan-fiction writers on this site.
Thank you.
To date I have seen NO-ONE on this site write a decent SCENE let alone story. Half of them don't even understand basic writing terminology, like cliche and railroading.
So what's your verdict on Bioware writing on ME3 mister expert?
And are you seriously saying that people shouldn't judge Bioware's writing if they're not proffesionals or something?
Because you're fooling yourself.
They should be more realisitc. Insinuating that they themselves can write better and that Bioware writers are terrible is hilarious at best.
When they don't even understand basic concepts like "cliche" and "character archetypes" yes they shouldn't be talking about how the writing is. If I am not a rocket scientist I shouldn't be commenting on how the rocket should be built.
As for me, their writing has always been on the better side of the business. Is it flawless? No. Is it better than most games out their? Hell yes.
Dear God you people need to play more games if Bioware's writing is "bad". What the hell do you call 2kgames or Infinity Wards then?
" If I am not a rocket scientist I shouldn't be commenting on how the rocket should be built."
Nobody's commenting on how they should write.
Everybody's just saying it's bad.
At least Bioware knows quite well the meaning of "cliches" though.
No, you "think" it's bad.
That OPINION may or may not be correct. I'd be willing to say there is a 90% chance anyone saying the writing is bad is full of it and needs to stop being a drama queen.
