Beat the game for the first time...was mighty disapointed at the battle for some reason...wasn't as epic as i was expecting...but i digress.  It came down to me or Alistar...and he got all emotional and really wanted to make the final blow...and i was all ready to do it but he made such a good point that i let him.  So the cinematic of him getting all hardcore Grey Warden-y plays and i get loaded up to the post-battle reception.  Alistar isn't there, but when i talk to Anora, she questions me about him as if he were still alive.  Then when I finish talking with everyone and leave and the conclusion stories play, it makes mention of Alistar running around, fighting and entertaining commoners in towns across Ferelden.  what...the...f?

Now, in this game i would say that my 'immersion-factor' took some fairly hard hits but this just put the icing on the cake of brokeness.  And then, i find that with few things that i was unable to accomplish with my main (and favorite) charachter due to the bugs in the game - i can't go back with that same charachter and re-play the game as i see fit...something that i would expect from any 'spiritual successor' to baldurs gate...*longing sigh*

Honestly, that's the first I've heard of the endgame doing that. I've seen 3/4 endings so far, and when I let Alistair sacrifice himself, he was gone and the epilogue didn't have him in there anymore. Not sure why your epilogue told you he was running around and such.

The same exact thing happened to me last night. Alistair became king, forced to marry Anora, and died. I play on the Xbox 360.
