I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet. If it has, feel free to delete this topic...or whatever.

While playing, I've heard several people wonder as to why there isn't a radar on screen. A mini-map of some sort...like you see in single player. It's often hard to judge (especially as a charge-happy Vanguard) whether or not a situation is safe if you don't know how many enemies there are.

Anyone else feel that a radar would be an important addition?

I thought it would at first, and I still REALLY want one for single player, a la Mass Effect 1 - I hate having to bring up the power wheel, pausing the flow, just to see where enemies are. However, when playing co-op, at the beginning of waves, having different players focus on different entry points, and relaying information, feels good.

Having a radar may make way for less communication.

They mentioned that for ME2 they got rid of the radar due to performance issues based on the Unreal Engine's limitations.

Having a real time updating radar like ME1 was just too much strain when they added the newer combat systems for ME2 and likely this holds for ME3.

So unless something changed and they've figured out how to make it work, I wouldn't hold your breath for it.

I prefer no radar personally, keeps things exciting.

Was used to ME2's radar. Coming into ME3, it was a big adjustment to not have it. Made me realise how much I depended on it. Think game is better without it.
