Cause my friends buy it via Steam, and guest what! Its slightly cheaper than the disk but no redeem code. Which he was badly dissapointed

The steam version does come with redeem codes for DLC, depending on which version you buy. Both of them come with the code for "The Stone Prisoner".
As for the achievement points, they're just a game exploration measurement.
There'd be no reason for them to be worth money, bioware can't pay it's developers (who need to pay for their food and shelter) with your in game achievements ;-)

It's amazing that once per day such a topic is opened or revived.
A bit of common sense, guys, you are supposed to be mature.
The purpose of achievements and achievement-scores is to create peer-pressure, so that you continue to play the game and buy DLCs to be able to get additional achievements. It's a virtual drug.

Well, that Dungeons & Dragons Online MMO lets you convert something like Achievements (in-game reputation with various Factions, really, or "Favor" as they call it) to virtual money for use in their store.
See, if one can't afford buy DLCs, they might just stop playing the game to let it gather dust on their shelves once they've ran through it a few times. but if I knew I could "unlock" (as it were) more parts of the game the more I played it, I'll still keep coming back to it.
As long as you have an active player, you have word-of-mouth advertisement and the like; a friend might see me playing the game and get interested enough to buy it themselves, or I might tell others about the new content I unlock.
There'll still be people who'll buy the DLCs outright, instead of grinding repeated runs for a hundred hours just to unlock a few more minutes in new content.
Shale is a great example of "must-have-right-now" content, as I'd rather explore new areas for the first time with interesting party members than to return to the same old places for the 10th or so time with just 1 new member.

Agreed willy, the majority of the DLC which got shipped with initial purchase etc was very well handled. Even the extra blade for all registered users prior to November 30 was correctly allocated, to that, kudos BioWare!

i say ye they make alot of money but they worked hard on this game so i think they deserve it and 7 dollars for 560 points is very cheap but it would be nicer if we could use our ach points to buy the download content

It would be nice if you could get enough points to download one DLC after two or three times playing through the game, and that would be about the limit for free points.

No, you cannot. I cannot think of a single game that allows you to do that.

There are plenty of games that provide DLC for free. Why shouldn't it be possible to get DLC for achievement points? Otherwise they are totally worthless.
Before I found this out each achievement actually counted for something.
It's not as if bioware points can be converted back in to money either.

Free and EA aren't things that go together. I personally believe BioWare develops, EA decides what people have to pay. And besides, my guess is that achievement points are a bit of a weakspot. I mean, I think Bioware put less security for AP than BWP. It could be easier to hack through the game and add 10 billion APs. To which then we get some kind of DLC pirates or something. I can't say though. Me and the computer are like two things of the same charge. We repulse each other!

Nothing like walking through DAO and seeing an ad for Viagra.

For the next auction, they could make them available as points... heck, I have almost all achievements by today. Am lacking the WK ones, one from Awakening and the 3 new ones from TDC (card problems, can't buy points)...
Edit : side note, to get my achievements, I never cheated through mods or by using certain tomes from Awakening.

Still a ridiculous idea. Achievements (and by extension, achievement points) are there to allow you to track your progress.
Yeah, allow them to unlock content (such as cosmetic items etc), or have minor game effects, but they can't give you post-release DLC for them. DLC has a price for a reason (i.e. to fund the development etc), and if they allow you to buy it with points you've earned in-game, that's basically just giving it away.

Well at least i finally found out why i had no points i thought you could earn them by playing the game like you when you play dungeons and dragons online. I think bioware should do the same thing allow for limited points to purchase some content.

while i understand the need for EA games [those poor homeless ceo's
] to make money.. i must say that I'm becoming increasingly tired of registering for every new "game server" anyone can think of. windows live, steam, gamebox, bioware, wtf is all this crap and why are ya'll partnering with them? cripes.. it takes longer to register yourself with every tom, dick and harry they attach themselves to then it does to beat the games. I'm playing Origins now and i find all these NPC quest-givers begging me for U.S. $... really EA? are you so broke you have your games begging for you now? with all due respect i paid for this game.. end of story. everything in the version of the game i purchased should be there. i don't like being forced to 'adopt' Bioware's server's AFTER i buy a game., i don't like being baited into buying a teaser which turns out to be a "starter" with a dozen $5 offshoots. and i feel that the bait and switch tactics being employed be companies as they try to integrate secure purchase methods is dishonest and despicable. if your going to require me to sign up with a ''streaming server' then let me opt out by offering a full refund. or let me choose which server i use. bioshock 1 required steam/valve.. bioshock 2 required LIVE.. how many are you supporting EA? im sorry i meant "WE" not you...

If you're on PC, there is a way to turn off the "offensive" ingame advertising, but if you're on console, I know of no way to get rid of them. Besides, you don't need them to complete the game.

I think it would be better if they sell out point cards like cherry credits or something , i have a hard time trusting the security when buying things online, can be hacked easily
