Yeah the old running animation was better. Keep in mind though that it isn't the finished product. It might not as bad in the final version of the game.

It is a finished product.

Is it really?
I'm not saying I don't believe you but I haven't heard any confirmation about this.

I actually haven't heard much from Bioware's side since they released the demo which is a little concerning..

That's what bugs me the most about this. No official statement on how old the demo is.

If animations are the worst thing about this game...

then I honestly don't really care. Especially since I didn't even notice a change.

Then, sir, you should immediately consult a doctor since you are obviously blind.

One of those type of people I see.

Well the Demo has been around since E3 2011 it is possible to fix the animations. Will they? I'm not holding my breath

Vega's animations are particually bad, he talks like a ventriloquist's dummy

How does it affect your enjoyment in any significant way though?

Unless you're playing the game for the mechanics alone I don't see how it would be a deterrent to something as broad and expansive as ME3.

As one poster above said, it's an immersion breaker.

Not just that though.  It just irks me knowing that I've paid for mediocrity from a game developer...

Ever played Batman Arkham City?  It's the best comic book hero game ever, and one of the best games of all time.  The metacritic score is insane.

Anyway, Rocksteady, an amateur developer with only one title under their belt managed to pull off something that Bioware has never been able to do, despite their much greater experience.

Rocksteady made a game (using UE3.5) that gave their fans/consumers high resolution textures, PhysX, 3D Vision, realistic looking hair and hair physics, smooth animations, awesome gameplay.....and the list goes on.

Now if Rocksteady can do it, why can't Bioware?  Bioware can do it I have no doubt, but they cut one too many corners, and thats mostly because their fanbase allows them to do so.

How many times have I heard on these forums,"You don't play Bioware games for the graphics, you play them for the story."

But who says we have to choose between a great story and great graphics?  The two have been merged successfully before many times, and since Bioware is supposedly a AAA developer, you'd think they'd have the capability to do it.

But they always fall short, due to laziness I think.

A+ post. It seems most people here are content with letting major flaws slide. Why?

Why can't a company with all of EA's cash not beat games made on half(or less) the budget?

It is laziness pure and simple.

Too many dates are going around with how old the demo is.

I'm actually surprised no one has blamed multiplayer yet.

Weird running/walking animations because they're better suited for a multiplayer game? Maybe.

No holstering weapons because it would be silly to do in multiplayer? Maybe.

I wouldn't be surprised.

I have to recall Metroid Prime Hunters.

Multiplayer was developed separately from the campaign, IIRC.

You're not likely to get one magic date for how old this build of the game is....you're going to get a string of dates, going back months, because the two levels shown are very old.

Doesn't matter. There had to be some sort of common ground with animations and gameplay elements.

Nah, I wasn't looking for a date. Just making a statement. :D

Funny how the people defending the animations stopped doing it after the two pictures were posted. Batman Arkham City animations were awesome on all platforms. There no excuses.

It's all bout fanboy irrationality, especially young people who pre-ordered, so they have a bias and impetus to lie and pretend they don't care.

Although some people lack the mental acuity to even notice various degradations, no matter how blatant they are.

The game is not going to be perfect. Nothing ever will.

I am befuddled by these kinds of posts, we are talking about some aspects of quality the two previous games already have, nothing extra. Especially something so basic like Shepard's motion/weapons/omnitool animations which you will be watching most of the time and is a key component to immersion as many people have already stated.

They had to fit it and the single player onto the disc...as in one. Considering the length of its predecessor, its valid to think that some things may be cut or 'dulled down'.

Animations might be a little stiff here and there, but thats such a minor thing for me I dont really care. I care more about the story, characters, worlds, overall feel of the game. I think this game looks great still, dont know whats wrong with people here... ME1 had terrible texture popping issues and some planets like Noveria looked so unfinished, but I overlooked it, this is nothing compared to that. And the facial animations, so it's not L.A. Noire quality, so what? Looks ok to me. Again Deus Ex HR and Batman AC had pretty stiff facial animations, still enjoyed both games, It's not a big deal to me.

People have become such graphic ****s these days, they complain about every single little thing that doesnt look just right or realistic, when I was young we played great games with 16 colors or less. And loved them. Now a days some people just diss some great games of the past off because "the graphics look like crap"... closed minded fools.

At this point I'm just hoping that the animations are garbage on Earth and once Shepard is in armor, his animations are better. I noticed he runs different in armor so the animations could just be a one shot deal therefore Bioware didn't put much attention into them.

Not sure how things worked with console versions, but the full game still has a 15gb requirement for the PC, as did ME2.

I'm so worried all of a sudden.
As silly as it sounds I almost want to cancel my pre-order until we get some word, I can just pick up the CE from the shelf where I'm from anyways.
