lol something is really wrong about it, it might be the stance or running style! Running in L.A.Noire is like a god comparing to this.
Broken to non-existant line of action.
Barely visible to no hip movement.
Completely robotic shoulder, neck and head movement.
Minor: Arms way out to the side.
To be honest, this would barely pass an introductory animation course. How in the hell did these kind of animations get greenlit?

Don't quote me on this but I recall reading they don't hire animators, so they're just modifying the rig and saying "close enough".

Because there's still people who will think those are good animations, just look around BSN. And BioWare knows this, so why bother making decent animations?

They should of stolen the Halo Reach pistol sprint.

Haha f*ck i lack words to describe the running animation, it looks like they have sh*tfilled diapers and try to run, I really hope it isn't in the final game btw they must have realized how much it sucks right.
Ofcourse it's in the final game. Why would they release a demo with old animations? What would be the point?

Honestly it's just f*cking wishful thinking to ease the worries of the final build and ofc this is a nightmare come true they must have seen it and decided that they don't care but if this fails as well then it's goodbye Bioware.

These look awful, I wonder how this animations slipped through. Looking at trailers, it's not nearly as noticeable, in fact I remember thinking the running looked pretty cool in the Against All Odds trailer. I think maybe when they play tested they always had the camera positioned so they only saw Shep above the hips or something or they always ran holding a 2-handed weapon and didn't realize how silly the legs and flailing arms looked, cuz if you look at some trailers it's still hard to find any bad animation.
The one trailer with Liara and Garrus was pretty bad.

I mean, if it was designed to be a FP game with option to switch to TP maybe, maybe that would make sense, but you're telling me I have to stare at that all game? And even that wouldn't excuse the NPC running animations.

Ouch. Shepard still looks ok in that one, but Garrus's run and Liara's biotic animation look really derpy. I've seen that biotic animation in the multiplayer videos too, where it looks like the neck and shoulders turn into stone and spin the head really awkwardly. I'm talking about the 0:54 mark.

That trailer released was AFTER E3. Shepard's hips dont move and so it just looks like his knees are moving and his shoulders. And Garrus and Liara made me laugh forever.

Haha. That is comical. How, oh how, do animations like that get into a modern game?
Because the Bioware fanbase is different than any other fanbase. Look around this thread, there's people who think the animations are great.

That's stunning. I mean, who could defend that? Shepard's hips are literally locked in place. There is no shifting of weight at all.

Yeah that's pretty bad. I can't even comprehend someone at Bioware looking at these and going "well, I'm satisfied. Lunch break?". I know not every game can be or needs to be a graphics of the year contender, especially a big one like this. But at least fix things that make people laugh for the wrong reasons. I still play PS2 games where other than low-poly count, I can't find a single flaw because everything meshes together so well despite the limited hardware and engine. This just looks like some interns made animations in a vaccuum and they ran out of time to test them in-game.

Those people are called biodrones, and don't have standards on what makes a video game immersive.

Actually I noticed that animations are completely off/stiff/floaty in the very first gameplay video of ME3. It immediately jumped at me in first seconds.
Of course, I completely disregarded it as "work in progress" refusing to believe that Bioware employees never saw Mass Effect 2. Who the hell knows what is going on in Bioware at this point.

There are many, many posters here who will defend Bioware no matter what. Have an opinion thats different? You're a troll, Hater, ungrateful, elitest and so on and on. None of them manage to make any counter arguments just throw around insults to anyone who dare challenges they're Bioware religion.
