Animations could probably have been fixed by modders within a week, if they where given the tools and approval to do so.

Remember, In a game such as this, animations should reflect the characters, which usually means that they must signify: Speed, power and balance in movement along with/resulting in a certain level/type of appropriate grace.

The animations are fine. In fact, I'm sure that BioWare, being the master storytellers they are, used such animations to make a commentary on the nature of the human race as they face hardship and war.

If you aren't able to understand the subtle implications of that, or appreciate such a storytelling technique, then go back to CoD.

In any case:

Yeah thats the big problem , they don't support mods.
If they did, we wouldn't care at all, just fix with our own hands.

Are you being paid for this?

If not, you should ask.  There are companies that pay for people to sit around posting positive-spin comments on official message boards. ;)

Funny.

No, I am not being paid for speaking sense. People have unrealistic expectations of anything these days, and the sooner that is dealt with the better.

Yes, the game will most likely be incredible, but it won't be something that makes whatever may come next pointless.

Expecting decent animations in a multi million dollar game is having unrealistic expectations?

It's a demo. And according to what I've heard it is actually the demo they showed back in July of last year at all the cons.

If it is improved in the final version, than good, you all get to stop complaining about this little thing.

If not then the BSN is gonna have a storm of rage-filled posts about "Shepard walks liek a '******!" and such.

Why would Bioware release an outdated demo? To put off fans? If they did improve, why didnt't they release that?

Long shot. Quite unlikely. And they made a somewhat crappy job with the demo. Its graphics and overall quality seems awkward and a step back from ME2. In my opinion, EA might probably have something to do with it, for I don't think Bioware would intentionally sabotage its most prized franchise.

What would be easier?
Having to take sections from the finished product, edit content out of said sections to make sure it was small enough to fit the size limit for demos, or take a previously showcased segment so people can have a taste of the combat in ME3?

Answer seems obvious if you think about it.

Expecting life-like accuracy in the animation department from a game as massive as ME3 is having unrealistic expectations.

To give people a taste of combat in ME3 you release an outdated demo??? Isn't the point of a demo to show a part of the finished game?

Gaiden96: Where did you hear that the demo is from July? I'm interested in learning this, and if this is correct then we have nothing to worry about when the game comes out, 'cause 8 (i think) months of work should have the animations and Shepards run speed polished and clean.

I read about it in a thread on here. I don't really remember which one but you can probably find it stickied in the ME3 Forum discussion pages.

I am not stating it as an absolute truth but it seems likely.

As mentioned, some of the members it really does feel like a cult, they will defend everything. The animations aren't good, they aren't the worst I've seen either, but they really are embarrassing.

I recall there was same kind of complaining about ME2's animation before january 2010, plus the usual nitpicking and complaints about various things to the tiniest detail, and behold, then the game came and immidiately 95 % jumped to the ME2 is awesome train and forgot everything they had doomed and gloomed about, even when the main plot of the game was crap.

History probably repeats. Except unlike the previous game, this game actually has a PLOT.

Thats how Bioware work, but you must always remember that not all demos are from retail builds. Remember the PS3 ME2 demo? that wasn't the retail build and it had screen tearing and changes in frame rate etc. The retail sorted those things out.

The most likely reason why the ME3 demo looks to unpolished is because I believe its from E3 2011. I remember them playing the same demo then.

Although, Bioware really should come out and say something on this matter.

Bullcrap.

Oblivion had terrible animations, even for the time it was made.

ME3's may have some problems but don't compare them to a game that is A) completely different from Bioware's approach to RPG's and B) is older than the presently discussed game. Like much older. Like 2006 old.

I don't mean to sound rude, but you have a quote from DA2 in your signature, I assume that means you liked DA2. If you liked DA2, that makes sense, but for the ones that loved ME1 and DA:O and saw what happened with all the sequels and how each one got more and more dumbed down and how these great original IP's cashed in, it's just frustrating for us. Each addition just seems to be getting worse.

That's my opinion, at least.

I did like DA2. I didn't love it like I did DA:O, but it was a decent game.

I respect their decision to try something new, and improve upon what they had done. It didn't work out the way they intended but, hey, they tried.

That DOESN'T mean I worship the game like it was a gift from Olympus.

It had flaws, some quite glaring. I had realistic expectations going into it. And some things I was very disappointed with.
That's why I give them feedback on what I believe could have been done better. I don't go on forums and shout about how they are now evil and greedy. They are a business, and are there to make money.

But if people complain about every little thing they ARE going to be disappointed.

There is nothing wrong with fans helping out with making something better as long as that content is free.
