You are simply to demanding of the company, how dare you demand a decent product!!!

So... what? Are you going to judge a game based on something meant to let people experience the combat and the changes made to the game?

A decent product is there.

A spectacularly incredible, OMG-inducing one where the animations are perfectly done, sprites are nowhere to be seen and everything is perfectly done is not.

I give up.
Enjoy the game if you can guys, I know I will.

Dullrim. Fun? Spoken like a true Beth-******. At best it's a cheap knock-off from Morrowind, just without any of the good bits.

And out of focus? Apart from the fact every NPC shuffled along in every town/village/city. Yeah, they were pretty hard to ignore. Huge open world is pointless if it's shallow. Much like Dullrim.

Mike? Is that you?

I recall there was same kind of complaining about ME2's animation before january 2010, plus the usual nitpicking and complaints about various things to the tiniest detail, and behold, then the game came and immidiately 95 % jumped to the ME2 is awesome train and forgot everything they had doomed and gloomed about, even when the main plot of the game was crap.

History probably repeats. Except unlike the previous game, this game actually has a PLOT.

I'm not sure how long it took for the general consensus to turn to 'it was amazing', but I know that at release, there were complaints galore. As ever things are being well and truly blown out of proportion. It sincerely feels like people just go looking for anything to complain about . It's the same with any game's release I guess. I especially enjoyed people spoiling the game's end in thread titles and such, as well.

Let that be something new members should be aware of as well. It might be a good reason to stay well away from the forum at release.

On the Mass Effect 3 demo, it's not absolutely perfect (nothing ever is), but after playing it, I m looking forward to Mass Effect 3 still, so you can tell I didn't have many real problems with it. On the PC, one issue I had was when trying to change key bindings, the game menu kept scrolling down, which is a bit odd. Also, it's a problem on my end as I use a HDTV as a monitor, but the loading text and some ability text was cut off at the dies thanks to not getting the ability to set the resolution the same as my desktop (I had to resize the desktop myself). Again, it's a fault on my end though. PS3 wise, I thought played well. The frame rate may not have been 100% stable, but it wasn't bad enough to be distracting.

Honestly, I didn't even notice the animation problems until someone pointed it out because I was too immersed in the story. I did have a problem with the action button and Shepard's movement speed though. I did get a kick out of Anderson running and really hope thats how it is in the main game because that **** was hilarious. The animations don't really bother me.

Also, for those people complaining about people defending Bioware. I'm not defending Bioware at all. I'm just saying that there is so much mindless ****ing and nitpicking on this forum that it is so hard to separate constructive critiscism from hating.

I don't see what's wrong with the sprinting animation, I greatly prefer it over ME2's sprinting.

In ME2 Shepard sprinted like a big dumb lumbering brute, and always seemed to be looking right for some reason while he was running.

The running looks better in armor and when carrying a rifle. Still think its such a petty point to bicker about considering the huge amount of stuff this game has to offer, including MP.

Expecting decent animations in a multi million dollar game is having unrealistic expectations?

Expecting life-like accuracy in the animation department from a game as massive as ME3 is having unrealistic expectations.

What is with this "massive" crap.  ME is no "bigger" than most games out there when it comes to the number of unique areas or maps.  There's no excuse for horrible animations aside from laziness or possibly incompetence.

At least the gameplay is faster and not quite as tank-like. As for the animations? They have never been great, so it just comes off as 'Mass Effect' for me. I enjoyed the previous two installments to no end with the same sort of issues and even worse. Remember the slow down and ungodly pop-in that was in Mass Effect 1? Still loved the hell out of it, and don't see that changing now.

I don't mean to sound rude, but you have a quote from DA2 in your signature, I assume that means you liked DA2. If you liked DA2, that makes sense, but for the ones that loved ME1 and DA:O and saw what happened with all the sequels and how each one got more and more dumbed down and how these great original IP's cashed in, it's just frustrating for us. Each addition just seems to be getting worse.

That's my opinion, at least.

and also mine.

Bullcrap.

Oblivion had terrible animations, even for the time it was made.

ME3's may have some problems but don't compare them to a game that is A) completely different from Bioware's approach to RPG's and B) is older than the presently discussed game. Like much older. Like 2006 old.

How does Batman AA and AC have 10X better animations with a smaller budget?
will wait for good answer.

And with AC a large open map that is tracking NPC activity the whole time.  Oh, and realistic looking water.  I'll wait for that answer too.

Easy - it's an RPG (supposedly).  Your character / avatar is yours to control.  When you see something so blatently wrong and out of place, it rips you out of the game world.  Immersion's broken, and you find yourself simply playing a bad Gears 3 clone.

Shepard has many more movement options than ever before, there is actual detail in the animations (like your turn around and the character's movements are fluid and realistisc.

I agree that they were better in ME2 but I still prefer more options to something pretty, as it should be.

And besides how does seeing sprites for a couple of seconds break imersion?

It's nothing but nit-picking.

Are you being paid for this?

If not, you should ask.  There are companies that pay for people to sit around posting positive-spin comments on official message boards. ;)

It's one thing to keep things the way they are, it's another to take a huge step back. Why does ME3 look so much worse than ME2 animations-wise? It's like a completely different team was trying to develop a cheap knock-off of Mass Effect, that's how low quality it is.

I am a bit concerned about Femshep's facial expressions more than any other animation. She had a dumb spaced out/surprised expression that seemed to persist in the demo due to her eye choices being at least twice the size as in the previous games. I just hope an imported Shepard still has normal sized eyes. I usually marvel at Bioware cutscenes, but this time I was cringing.

Ok. But ME2 had better animations. A sequel having worse animations than it's predecessor is unexceptable.

ME1 had better animations, let alone ME2.

It's some feat for a games company to regress this far with their animations.

I find this thread funny.

People saying that Shep runs/walks funny in ME3 and complaining about the animations being stiff in ME3; and comparing it to ME2 saying ME2 was better.

Lol.

1) Me3 aint out yet so we cant judge for qure quite yet.
2) Did you see Shepard walking/running like a retarded monkey in ME2?

Lol.
