There's really no view of Bethesda's developmental heights from even the roof of the Bioware building. Bethesda has delivered this over six TES games alone not to mention four Fallout titles that are almost as huge. Much as I love Mass Effect, and would buy any new ME title, attempting to laugh at Skyrim given the challenges TES presents to its devs is absurd. The company redefined and set the standard for CRPGs that no company to follow can even quantify beyond urban legend.

Bethesda had nothing to do with the first two fallout games /pedantic

Why can't people complain in silence?

Because then games get worse and worse.

It's the constant whining that's making games worse.  The developers no longer care about the gaming community since it's all just a bunch of crying emo [wackadoos].  As long as those morons keep buying [schmoopy] games, [floopsy] games will keep getting made.

I really want to start an argument here. I'm sitting in front of keyboard and I really want to. I'm ready for it. My entire life has led to that point.

But, then I remembered. Oh right, this is the internet. Logic has no place here.

The 2D sprites I could care less about, not a big issue. But the moment I got control over Shepard and saw how he/she moves I couldn't believe how much worse it seemed in comparison to ME2, not to mention 1. That was basically my impression the whole time I spent settling into the gameplay of the demo. Hilariously, in the cutscene prior to the first combat segment I don't think I noticed any major issues in Shepard's/NPC animations, then you take control and it's a whole other world. Come next cutscenes and it's fine again, then gameplay starts and it's horrible. If the demo is supposed to serve as more or less the representation of ME3 final quality, it's not doing a very good job on a number of levels.

P.S.
Also you people who own 7 year old console hardware and buy games for it, there is a good reason to believe that ME3 deteriorated so much because they are trying to stuff so much stuff in it, there is no room for fluid detailed animations anymore.

I hope you are proud of yourselves for halting progress and actually degrading games for almost a decade now.

You blame consoles for this, so while ME3 got worse, other games have generally got a lot better. HMMM, go figure.:bandit:

Don't you dare say Bethesda created 4 Fallout games imo they made the worst one of them all which is Fallout 3 and only Fallout 3. Black Isle developed the excellent Fallout 1 and 2 while Obsidian developed New Vegas.

And Bioware has made a cRPG in a long time.

Lol. More ****ing about a game not even out. You know data miners confirmed it's an older build right? January build

January build is not so old. It means just 3-4 weeks before final build. So anything expected to change are bugs.

Yeah. It has nothing to do with complaining to get your voice heard. Money talks. The BSN whines.

Some things I just can't blame on consoles. I think this is Bioware being lazy.

<--- If CDProjekt can get amazing graphics and animations like that on a 360 why does Mass Effect's quality degrade from one game to another? And I play on PC I'm not a console fanboy.

I had the exact same feeling, I was impressed with the whole setting(of course knowing that they can't make graphics better due to consoles peasants) and cutscenes....
....and then I took control of Shepard and started to move....
I actually broke in sweat how angry I was, like I was in a physical fight.

Whoa, are you telling me the movement animations are even worse than in ME2? I did not think that was actually possible, but then I saw that gif a few posts back. I guess we're back to the "let's use that guy with horrible skeletal deformities for mocap of our main character and copy/paste it onto the female version as well" method of doing Shepard's animations. *sigh*

I wonder what the odds are of Bioware improving the animations through a post-release patch.
Is it even possible?

Bioware? Improved their post release that doesn't happen.

I don't understand why Bioware didn't just keep the animations from the previous games. They were so much better.

Yes, I was wondering about that too, they are just one of those primitive companies that don't do that. It's beneath them or something.

...only if you work under the assumption that the problem is not console-hw related. You can't patch in more ram.

Lets face it guys, Bioware animations/graphics will never be as good as CDProjekt...the best we can hope for is what we've seen in ME and ME2. Apparently expecting that is too much and we are all haters.

The ME1 walking, sprinting, and shooting animations were just fine. They had rigs for male and female. They discard all that work so that shepard can have jellyfish legs and sprint like a gorilla.

That's pretty much my point. You'd think they'd learn after that last fiasco, but no. It defies any reasonable explanation. Maybe it's some sort of weird outreach prgram for gorillas and... Hanar?

...more like they discarded animation fidelity for the sake of implementing more stuff. Like the ability to use Kinect with ME3.

I didn't notice this... but dear God... that is horrible.

I'll still get the game... but considering the Cerberus working with Reapers and Normandy not getting blown out of the sky plot holes, I'm pretty pessimistic about this...

I laughed at how bad the animations were in Lagrim. A whole new level of crap thanks to Bethesduh.

Yeah well. I guess they could have tested it on an actual Atari 800 before they claimed compatibility and shipped it. Just lazy, money hungry....

Gameplay on my machine is smooth as silk, with nothing but 2048K and 4096K textures making the world look like I was viewing it through a window instead of on a screen. Characters move and fight like people. Not constipated droids with crutches for legs. And they did that in the vanilla game before I took advantage of a modding community that enables players to reach any level of visual perfection they can stand. In a game that allows for unending exploration and infinite questing with no requirement to follow scripting whatsoever. I don't slow down until there are 20-30 people on screen fighting at once plus animals via my War in Skyrim mod. And that's with particle effects from mages and dragons.

WIth all due respect, I have to wonder if you've even played it.
