2d sprites? Seriously guys?

Man I know it's not the biggest deal but if you're going to use sprites at least have them run in different patterns.

Hahahaha they're so adorable, I want one!

Seriously though, not fantastic. Couldn't they have used sprites for the really distant ones?

Did multiplayer really divert that many resoruces?

And everybody in the world except EA's board of directors knows it's not going to come close to MW3 anyway.

Why not focus on making a solid action rpg?

Also why are they running towards the Repaers?

please **** (sorry for french if it offends) about something important. and ME3 isn't expected by ANYONE to sell 13 million copies. the only people who think that someone else thinks it might are the BSN usualls.

for petes sake there flipping back ground art/animation. do you realise how much 2d crap is in games today in the background? they do that to save on system resources, not because they added coop.

Also you people who own 7 year old console hardware and buy games for it, there is a good reason to believe that ME3 deteriorated so much because they are trying to stuff so much stuff in it, there is no room for fluid detailed animations anymore.

I hope you are proud of yourselves for halting progress and actually degrading games for almost a decade now.

Unreal can't into water. It always comes out looking like Jello, well not allways, but it's not uncommon.

animations of weapons are also better in ME2, for example compare the recoil and firing animation of tempest submachine gun with that in ME2.

The people complaining about the sprites you know they did that in ME2 right? Just go to Illium and you'll see them, hell could be more but an average gamer isn't going to nitpick tiny things like that. It's to help keep the game run smoother and loading down. Would it be cool if they were all perfect 3D models? Yes. Are they needed? No.

But the problem is that they are here because the game is designed for a very obsolete console hardware instead for PC.

Boo Hoo? Don't like it don't buy the game, or buy it and mod it to high heavens that's what most PC users due anyways. Console players don't even have that option so it's pretty hard for me to feel bad about that sorry.

Well, just try not to buy consoles in the future, if you buy a high-end PC you are set for 2-3 years, not to mention all other stuff you can do on it faster and better.

-nevermind the horrible sprinting animation, the normal movement is abysmal, you just like slide around, there is no weight to it at all and there are even no footsteps sounds, have developers of ME3 never seen ME2 or ME1?

Just quoting this because seriously, i don't understand how this animation was validated.
It's common knowledge among animator that for walking and running animation, the key of quality result in the hips that give an impulsion on the shoudler, hips unbalancement make the shoulder "jump" slightly upward, instead, in your animation your hips and shoulder remain at the very same level from the group all the way, wich make your running animation look totaly (sorry i'll be harsh) "retarded" and amateurish.

If you can't "hand make" these kind of animation, you should have done it with motion capture... at least the movement amplitute of armes / legs and torso animation would have looked more realistic and so, less chocking, even with your hips and shoulder stuck on a rail.

I often favor the good hand made animtion over motion capture but the artistic valor, but if it looks bad ... motion capture will save your day.

I would hope for an animation replcament on a pach but i won't hold my breath, it's like this since the first E3 demo, if Bioware wanted to make a good one they would have changed it already, i don't think they will bother later.

Expect that, it seems be ok / great so far, i think the charge have less "impact force" (animation wise) than in ME2 but i'll need to play the whole game to be sure.

Yes. Why improve something like animations? No game needs those!

On the bright side, Shep jumping doesn't look as ridiculous as the bow-legged jumps in Lagrim.

Your computer is a piece of crap, the animation is beautiful in 60fps.

Not wanting outstanding animation like batman arkham series but this is too much.

Bad animation is much more vividly painful to watch in 60+ fps.

I actually got ahead of him and stopped and he kept running, and took me all the way to the next cutscene :D

Yes, I said that

And that's just walking.

Shepard walks like he needs to go to the bathroom and Anderson runs like a Cactuar.

OMG:blink:

Not being able to holster a weapon would be fine if you didn't have to permanently walk with your arms rigidly extended during 'combat zones'.

That's what makes forward movement animation so robotic and awkward because it's so un-natural. If you did that all day long it would be akin to enduring crucifiction torture and the lactic acid build up would be crippling.

Would it really take up too much memory to have the default arm position be by your side instead of fixed w/reticle?

-----

Why even have female animations loaded at the same time as default male shep anims? If they were looking to reduce memory strain wouldn't that have been much a more effective/obvious way to go?

I'm still hoping we will have proper animations and textures for PC.

EA is one of the worlds biggest publishers and Mass Effect is one of the their biggest and most promising IPs by one of their most experienced developers... so why in 2012 don't BioWare have the budget/access/talent to license something like Euphoria?

The consoles are old but other developers can create huge open-world experiences on these consoles with fluid animations.... to paraphrase Cave Johnson.... are BioWare banging rocks together or something [by comparison]?
