lol. I don't understand why people defend companiesl iek they're on the payroll.

Mass Effect was the reason I got an Xbox. Reading previews about a new RPG set in space coming from Bioware? Which made KOTOR? I had to get that.

Mass Effect 1 was fun. So was 2 even if the story went stupid. But 3 is shaping up to be terrible. I hope I'm wrong but did DA 2 turn out to be good? No.

ME3 isn't being developed by the DA2 team. ME3 is being made by the same great team that created 1 & 2. Your post is invalid.

Except for all the people they ported to work on TOR. Not to mention being forced to throw in things like multiplayer from their EA overlords.

Okay stop there right now. Multiplayer from what I have experienced as of now is not tacked on.

The MP is being developed by a separate team, too. Try again.

Yep, I just can't play it anymore, the whole thing is ruined. I just wish I could understand how is it possible that this can happen.

I have been reading for the past five or six pages now laughing my a@# off. Do you really believe that a demo that has a download of 2 Gigs, is the final product that  they are releasing?
its a demo you all understand what that means right? I'm not here to bash anyone and yes DA2 was a huge let down but you cant compare a demo to the finished product. In 21 days(yay!) when it is relasesd, and if it is as you all say broken then yes please complain, hell i'll be in the frontlines with you all.

Also you people who own 7 year old console hardware and buy games for it, there is a good reason to believe that ME3 deteriorated so much because they are trying to stuff so much stuff in it, there is no room for fluid detailed animations anymore.

No room for fluid, detailed animations?  You're joking right?  Somehow just about every other game company in the world can do it but BW can't because of consoles?  Sorry, that's utterly idiotic.  BW is simply not good at it.  Period.  Much bigger games with more happening on screen can pull it off on consoles, especially exclusives like UC, Gears, God of War, etc.  ME3 doesn't have all that much in it at all.  Heck, that new game Kingdoms of Amalur has a ridiculous amount of powers, abilities and customization options yet somehow great animations too.  One has nothing to do with the other.

Best reply i have seen in this topic so far

Agreed. To be honest, I'd rather play a game with 'meh' graphics and all the dialog options, story, etc that Bioware gives than one with OMG AMAZING graphics and just ok story and no dialog, custom character creation, etc. If you're looking for the graphics, Bioware isn't and has never been top choice. They have limited resources and I'm glad they spend it in the areas they excel at.

DEMO

The animation (running) is the same since the first appearance of ME3 at E3, and the game is gold.
Animation is a long and complicated process, don't expect any change unless Bioware says so.

Do you think it would be possible for modders to insert ME2 walking and sprinting animation into ME3?

Honnestly i can't say for sure, i'm a modeler first (but i was thaught 3D by an amazing animator). Animation is more complex to incorporate in a game than textures and objects, there is more coding repercution involved and generaly when 1 animtion work fine and cause no issue, they don't want to change it just like that.
Also, the modders community are usualy made with coders, modelers, but animator seems to be rare among them, i don't know if it is because it's harder to find a good animator, or if it is because animation is harder to modd for games.

Oh great, another thread about one of the following subjects:

- Bioware catering to console noobs;
- Bioware catering to loyal fanboys;
- Bioware catering to newer fans, but neglecting “old”, “loyal”, and “old school” fans;
- Bioware bowing down do to the wishes of their EA overlords;
- This game is going to be the worst Bioware game ever!!!111!!! Just look at *insert random game here*!!!!
- Dumbing down of RPG elements;
- This game does not have the things that I want;
- This game is not similar to it’s predecessor.

So very, very this.

7 pages of whine.

I don't see a huge problem with animations. Or the graphics. Then again, my fist video game was a Pong Machine from Radio Shack when such products were new.

Shep went where I wanted him to go and got there smoothly. My only issue was covering when I didn't want to at points.

And I LOVE and always will you PC snobs with, "It's all you outdadted consoler's faults. God, just get a good gaming rig."

Well, good for you that you have so much freaking money to blow "every 2 or 3 years" as one person a couple pages back  noted.

Most of us can't just flex these same whine muscles to Mommy and Daddy until they buy us one. We have mortgages and kids to put clothes on and feed.

In short, grow up, cancel your pre-orders, and only buy games that meet your elitist, snobbish notion of "perfection." I'm as sick of whiners like  you as you are of people like me reminding you of reality.

Brah. Who cares about Skyrim?

How does Skyrim "sucking" change anything about Mass Effect?

Hurr this game sucks more than this one so this one is good!

Wait. Get this.

They both suck!

Or did you think DA 2 was a triumph of gaming?

Ithink DA 2 is better than origins hell i like awekenings more than origins and it is just an expansion.Image IPB

Jesus I can't believe all the negative hype about this game now that the demo is out. Most of the major gaming websites aren't so negative about it. I'm actually kinda getting worried, but then again a lot of people in this forum are just whiny little brats, especially the OP, "thanks a lot console users of degrading games for 10 years" or some such garbage...

Maybe the OP should realize that ppl who wanna spend hundreds of dollars per year upgrading their computer to keep it up-to-date are in a very small minority. Most people just wanna have fun and enjoy a solid gaming experience, not whine about technical details like texture quality, animation fluidity, etc,

Most gamers just want a good game. People like you are NOT representative of the Mass Effect fan base at large. Just because you have the best gaming computer doesn't entitle you to the full attention of game developers. Just something to think about.

Well sir, obviously your opinion does not count if gaming is not your #1 priority! Psssht... feeding your kids. *mumblemumble*

Once upon a time I thought a car with working seatbelts was important. Elitist PC gamers helped me find the light. I only pray you find enlightenment soon. ^_^

to those bashing the "whiners":

so people cannot give feedback on a demo without being labeled a whiner? bioware is asking for feedback on the demo, and they are giving them feedback, so that it can be used to either fix the game or help make future games better. there is nothing wrong with this. since we are going to be paying 60-80 bucks for the game and more for dlc maybe we just want the game to be as good as it can be. and something like textures not actually looking like crap is an easy fix

No, you aren't. For $250, what kind of gaming computer are you thinking of dude? Plus, with computers, you need to update your hardware constantly in order to stay up-to-date so that games run well. It's far more expensive in the long run and only for the people who must have the absolute best graphics and the most customization.

I used to spend hundred of dollars per year, had an overclocked, water-cooled top-of-the-line PC, but eventually I gave up once the new generation of consoles came out because they offered a completely satisfactory gaming experience without all the hassle, and in addition, I wouldn't have to purchase any new hardware for almost a decade, and I'd still be playing the latest games! Consoles are perfect gaming machines.

I recently spent $1200 on a Macbook Pro, which I use for school and work, because it is perfect for those purposes. It isn't a gaming machine. I won't be taking it apart semi-anually to install more RAM or new video cards. I love not having to worry about that stuff.

Some of these people are funny. Just be quiet and swallow the poo Bioware feeds you...which might be fine for you if your parents paid for the product. For those of us that pull money out of our own account for it though, we expect high quality, not something that resembles an indie game.

The only animation I'm really concerned about is the running. Looking at Anderson running in front of me just had me laughing. It was a sort of an unnatural skip and jump glide? LOL ME2 running animation wasn't perfect but a hell of a lot better than what I saw in the demo.

Exactly - that's where I realized the OP had gone beyond reasonable criticism - he's a typical PC elitist, meaning he is overly sensitive to relatively small problems with graphics. Most console gamers (which make up the majority of ME gamers) won't even notice the type of problems he is going on and on about. I haven't had these kinds of isseus myself, and if you read demo impressions on the major gaming websites, they haven't either.

He doesn't seem to understand the game developers aren't tailoring their game for people like him. If you want a game designed for PC elitists, go play Crysis, or go back to playing first-person shooters. I have nothing against those games of course but it sounds like you'd be far more satisfied playing games that are on the cutting edge graphics-wise. Mass Effect is more about an in-depth, mature storyline, and character development.
