gotta say, thats really dissapointing. part of the reason why i voted for that design was for that character. and personally, i like the default, but i'd like to make some changes to the face, but then when i realized i couldn't have the default hair with a custom character, that was a huge letdown.

It would have been great to edit the default Male/Female Shepards.. or atleast the features (hair, eyes, lips) maybe we can in the retail version?

i mean i can kinda understand not having the default character as a default in custom, but we should have all the features of the default character.

and when you make such a big deal about femshep, and then don't even let us use the new hair, which thousands of people voted on, in a custom character?

thats just down right annoying.

The default is an entirely different beast. None of those features are available to the custom characters and you're correct - it's annoying.

Especially that now I can't even get my custom Shepard to look like my custom from ME2 / ME1.

If it's anything like the other recent BioWare games - nope.

If im not mistaken, the only reason in DA2 you could edit default Hawkes was because someone made a mod to cover up this short sightedness in bioware character design.

Hopefully such a thing will be possible to make in ME3 but im not holding my breath.

I voted for that Shepard design because I just wanted to use that hair, not having access to it is indeed pretty annoying/disappointing. I like the bob cuts though so its not all bad.

I was wondering about that, but I also tried to use the custom character options to make a shepard match an imported shepard in ME2 and it was not really possible. I think that in ME3 an imported shepard won't look too different.

I'm a bit perturbed that default femshep's hair is the only hairstyle that is slightly animated / moves ... all the other ones are the old ME2 plastic helmets (don't move or "bend" when the character does)... default femshep's hairstyle however bends and moves around a bit.

Really wish they did this for those of us who prefer custom femsheps.

Default sheps are completely different compared to ones you create. That's why.

In my case I think they'll look pretty different - the options that are there don't even seem to match up.

- The smaller ponytail doesn't look the same, and in fact results in this weird elongated head - I'm afraid Sigourney Weaver is going to show up and try and kill me.  In fact, all the "up-do" styles seem to suffer from this.  Rather than a nice tight hairstyle, I half expect one of the options to show pencils or chopsticks holding it up.

- The makeup options are so toned down (other than lipstick) they're practically non-existent.  The blush and especially eyeshadow are all like varying shades of barely there... they're way too transparent.

- The mouths and lipsizes seem really off as well.  I remember setting up my custom shep in ME1 / ME2 and knowing that if I got the lip size slider anywhere near the midpoint I'd look like a freak... now I've got to pump it up to almost 75%.

Overall I'm just really disappointed.  My shep is my shep and if the demo is anything to go by, ME3 is going to be helmed by her wierd clone / evil twin or something.  I really don't expect anything to change between demo and retail where the character creator is concerned - if it does, great, but I think to buy the whole "it's just a demo it's not like the final game" is naive.

well hopefully gibbed will make a save game editor, and we'll be able to get the default femshep hair on a custom character that way.

I noticed that too. Too bad it's not an option. Wanted to replace the hair cut of my custom FemShep with the new haircut of default FemShep.

Well, maybe Bioware will add the new haircut with a game patch, if we ask friendly?

I tried to make a custom female Shepard ( I mostly wanted to remove the freckles and change the hair colour ) last night using the new hairdo and I was horrified to learn that the new hairstyle is exclusive to the default female Shepard. In my opinion that was a major **** up on Bioware's behalf.

With the retail version, you should be able to modify the saved file to have the default hair like how we did in ME:2 for the hair of NPC's.

We shouldn't have to go through the trouble though. That's my issue with ME:3, so many of problems we've seen thus far just look like they would be common sense.

are you serious? Well that sucks. I saw the femshep trailer and wanted that hairstyle.

Maybe they just cut some of the hair cuts out of the demo? They did the same thing to the makeup.

the default shepards use a unique texture which is why it isn't possible to recreate sheploo (it's based on someone's real face) and now that they made a new Default FemShep she uses a different texture as well. So unless something radical changes between today and release or there is something we don't know--

we won't be able to use Default FemShep's hair without doing some work.

So is it possible that the CC demo left some options out? I don't even know if that's realistic to believe since it's so close to the release date, I want to though.

I'm sure there will be. Give it a few months and people will have the source code figured out so you can get the expanded range of hair styles. I know I'm gonna wait with my FemShep. I used an NPC only hairdue on her for 2 and I want to be able to use it in 3. Give it time, I'm sure we'll see it.

realy hope they add this :(

i kinda preferred the femshep model over my custom femshep in the renders... ingame not so much and i'd just like to steal the hair or mess with the defaults face a bit, hope they add that option in the released version :(

shouldn't be hard probably editing some permissions and settings in some ini files : /

I too wish they allowed the use of the default hair for custom characters. To me alot of the character creation is actually worse than before for femshep.

Just tried to edit her using Gibbed, ended up with a bald Default shep. not a good look. Sadly I'm stuck with Ginger bug eyes.
