I got one of those "give X class an XP boost and a new customization" things in a pack but I don't see how to use it on a class?

It does it automatically.

I've been rolling Infiltrator exclusively, and my other classes are at around level 2-3 from those boosts.

It's random, but it'll tell you what class it's for after you buy the box.

 As you unlock each kit, you receive an experience bonus towards that kits' abilites (I believe it is now fixed at 250K experience, but I could be wrong.)

You also unlock exactly one level of customization for that kit (this varies, but each kit can receive many of these).

However, each kit is only unlocked once for use (obviously).
