BioWare this is really the right moment to come down here with us mortals and finally say some reassuring words.

I do hope Bioware fixes the problems. The MP runs fine, however, I do not want the SP experience hampered by incompetence from a HQ developer. Mass effect has a new audience and should try to keep that audience.

To think after the Skyrim fiasco, Bioware would try to avoid this for their fans.

you people never learn...let me tell you a sad story...
I like many others bought ME2 for the PS3 and hell it was full of bugs , audio out of sync , FPS problems, saves being corrupted...it had problems from day one and they knew it...
Now you can all enter the ME2 PS3 Technical Problems and see , most of ME2 PS3 bugs are the same as ME3 PS3 ones...
we started to complain , and they ignored us for months...
one day they responed saying that many PS3 players aren't experiencing these issues even though EVERY MAN I ASKED TOLD ME HE IS HAVING THESE PROBLEMS...forget it , they won't fix it...you believe they will fix it just like we believed so stop believing...
I love Mass Effect , it's the best series I've ever seen and just because of that I think we need to cancel our pre-orders so they could see how much it's important to us and that we don't want to finish this epic saga in an epic FAIL...

Because of this article: Mass Effect 3 PS3 vs. 360: 'You won't see a difference'
http://www.computera...e-says-bioware/

This is what makes people hype so much about having high-performance version of ME3 on PS3 and fail to realize that the problems similar to those in ME2 can be in ME3. Then, when the problems really exist, they hurt.

Without this article, I am not surprised PS3 version is again another crappy port like many other games.

what we all feared.
why bioware stayed silent.
why i will cancel my preorder.

this is unacceptable. Bioware simply lied to every single ps3 user out there by telling them they wont notice a difference.

I am done being treated as a second rate customer.
This is heavy Bioware... really heavy. I never thought you would join Bethesda in this department. You guys dissappointed me. :(

We deserve better treatment. We pay the same. We deserved the truth.

you people should read the IGN article better. it says the framerate issues disappear after the earth intro, but that poor lip sync and screen tearing are consistent throughout the game. poor lip sync is a game breaker when it comes to mass effect.

Dude, if you tolerated ME2's problems then I don't see why you're so upset about ME3's. Hell, Bioware made a bigger lie by saying that the PS3 version of ME2 would be the definitive version and that it would actually look and play better than the 360.

IGN confirmed that these frame-rate issues are confined to the 15 minute intro level. 15 minutes out of the 30-35 hours you'll spend on one playthrough of the game is not a big enough deal to warrant a boycott. You're clearly overreacting but hey if you want to miss out on what's probably going to be the best game of this year then hey, be my guest.

P.S. comparing minor frame drops to the Skyrim lag problem is ridiculous. Before Skyrim on PS3 got patched up, there was literally times where the game was at 0 FPS.

well i think weve all done all we can do here, time to move on, bioware will sell a **** ton of ps3 versions of this game because the vast majority of ps3 users havent a clue what a forum is,  but you, i and everyone who has contributed to this forum over the last week know that bioware have been caught with there pants down, its no shame being unable to produce parity on the ps3, its well known how difficult it is, but the failure to address us in this forum apart from some half arsed semi coherent sentance from chris priestly shows you just how dedicated bioware is to sucking on EAs teat, truly discracefull!

In the interest of not allowing anymore misinformation on this issue to spread around, let me correct you on one point. They didn't say anything about screen tearing, models flickering in and out of existence when the camera angle changes is a seperate issue. The demo has already been confirmed to run with V-Sync on, it's doubtful that they would change that for the final release.

thank you for correcting that. however, the real culprit here is the lip sync issue. if lip sync is an issue throughout all of mass effect 3 than the game is straight out broken. not on a technical level, of course, but you understand what i mean.

It was a real annoyance in the PS3 version of ME2 and even then it didn't happen throughout the entire game (not for me at least). If ME3 is even worse than that it really does raise some interesting questions about the amount of polish Bioware put into the PS3 version, especially after all the complaints that they received before.

from a business perspective it would make sense for them to marginalize the PS3 version, becuase that version will sell the least amount of copies. now, more than ever really.

I guess it doesn't really matter now. Most PS3 exclusives look better and are better than what ever exclusive the 360 has.

IGN:

"his particular problem clears up as you play further through the game via future cutscenes, these hitches certainly concerned me early on. Likewise, lip-syncing is almost always off and characters sometimes appear stiff and can even flicker in and out of cutscenes when camera angles change. "

Nothing about screen-tearing.

This just in: PS3 presents longer loading times as well.
Sigh.

Well at least they're acknowledging that the problems do exist. How far they're willing to go to correct them (if at all) is another matter.

Looking into something doesn't necessarily mean fixing. It's more of a "We are gonna try to fix this! But if we can't you can't be mad because we never said we would!"

They're at least acknowledging that they can try to patch it. Some performance issues in games can't simply be patched, they might require extensive code rewrite.

People need to remember, the single player portion of the current demo.. is the same hands-on demo present at last years E3 in June 2011.

The only thing the single player demo signifies.. is how the game existed 7 months prior to being completed.
