yes multiplayer framerate is fine, no problems with it, maybe it was some connection problem with some people, because otherwise the multiplayer portion is just fine. It is the single player part that suffers mostly and vastly.

It DOES NOT run at an acceptable rate.

I'm not happy with the framerate being clearly lower than the Xbox and PC versions,

not until you see my video. actually it is more equal to high end pc's than xbox 360.

Now I'm starting to think this is a troll job. My ps3 is in great condition and my me3 framerate ranges from moderate to choppy. I haven't had any dramatic drops in framerate but no way would I compare it to the 360 or the pc version.

How did a troll get in here. Don't you need to register a Ps3 version of the game to be ablte to post here???, are there really people that are so stupid that they go and buy a Ps3 game just to be able to troll in the official forum.

Anyway.
As an update, the more I play the better the framerate runs. I'm quite sure it's not me getting used, I've already played quite some parts with a lot of enemies and action and the framerate holds up quite nice during gameplay.
My BIG problem are still the cutscenes, they just look horrible. There was just a part I played now with some trucks and there was a cutscene that I wasn't sure if it was suposed to be running in slow motion or if it was just horrible framerate (spoiler alert... it was the framerate).

Oh, I can say for certain that (unfortunately or fortunately) I am getting used to the choppiness... I just replayed the Earth stage and it felt just fine! (WTF is wrong with me?) Whilst my first impression of said stage was of disgust back on release day.

Edit: Before anyone chastises me, let me be clear that the framerate's still a problem, gameplay-wise and cutscene-wise. My point is that it's totally possible to get used to horrible stuff, which doesn't make said horrible stuff good.

wow, good for you.
for me other than the opening cut scene all cut scenes look gorgeously clean, sharp, crisp and smooth on my ps3.

The point is we shouldnt be getting used to the chopiness... The fact that we get used to it, doesnt magically stop the game from being a very bad port with bad performance.

Most priority missions seem to be more polished and have only minor fps issues. But many side missions (and there are lots of them) are not optimized. Look at the mission in Gillex for example, or the other missions which I cant describe without spoiling (and I am not going to do so). Even main priority missions on tuchanka or Mars have segments with very bad framerate.

This coupled with many cutscenes which quite honestly you cant understand exactly what is happening because of the poor framerate is simply not something we should get used to. It something we should demand for it to be fixed. We deserve a better performance and quality.

I wouldnt be here if the problem was just 2-3 frames, but it is a very very big difference in most parts. And Bioware should fix this if they value us as much as they do 360 and PC gamers. I can live with not the best version out there. I am not a fanboy and I dont mind minor issues, but at least let the issues be minor. up to 10 frames down from 360 version means a hit of 33.33% in performance. That is not the equivalent of "minor" on my book. It is quite big.

For the millionth time I will ask politely Bioware to communicate with us and tell us if they are going to fix it or not.

And for the millionth time I expect them to sadly ignore me... :(

this. as a ps3 owner i always get the short end of a stick in multiplatform games. i do not care anymore why this is happening, fact is i almost always get  an inferior version , i cannot blame the devs all the time but not the platform anymore.
Sony made an unconvetional console.
Next time i will play safe.

As a PS3 user you never did anything about getting the short end of the stick. Instead you bought every game. What did you expect? For them to try and treat you differently? Since you buy the games anyway, why should they change their attitude? Think about it!

And most multiplatform devs these days are providing excellent parity between consoles, in fact a lot of multiplat games are a bit better on ps3, just because Bioware doesnt care much, doesnt mean that this is the rule.

And one other thing you should keep in mind. Say that you are right, say it is the platform. Ok so it isnt Bioware's fault, ok. But explain this to me: why is Bioware ignoring pretty much everyone in the PS3 section??

Where are their posts? Why dont they communicate with us when in the 360 section we have threads like this:

http://social.biowar...ex/9715993&lf=8

and on PS3 we have threads like this:

http://social.biowar...ex/9280971&lf=8

Is that Sony's fault as well??? We are talking about 3 pages of Bioware posts for a trivial Grissom Academy bug (we also have it) and we have only one post for a big issue like ours, that affects enjoyment.

Bioware CLEARLY has double standards. We get the short end of the stick not only as customers, but as fans as well. We have been pleading for like 33 pages so far and all we got was "we are investigating" a month ago... Meanwhile the 360 section looks like a chat between Bioware and fans...

Sorry I see a pattern here...

I agree here, the really need to do something about the frame rate. Like I tried saying before though, sadly it seems this is getting put on the back burner because of the ending. I hope I'm wrong though.

The only mission I had a really bad FR drop was when I was "helping" the Krogan. It was pretty much to the point where it was unplayable. I, however, noticed that when I first start the game it runs fine but after an extended play period (about 3 hours) then the game starts getting choppy and then ultimately freezes on me and I have to do a hard reset. I guess it's similar as to what Skyrim was doing to PS3 users. I just hope BioWare fixes this issue along with some of the side missions in their next update. There's a mission I can't complete on the Citadel because the game keeps freezing when I try to go to the Holding Area. Very, very annoying.

^^my point is not to make you buy a 360 to play Mass Effect 3... really is that what you got from what I am saying? What I am saying is that all of us should demand for a performance on par with the 360 version -which we were promised- and not settle and tolerate all these so called "minor hiccups" which arent minor by any means when 80% of the games cutscenes are running so poorly.

Yet some people are saying "hey it is playable" , as if we should just accept this and move on, until the next game comes out and runs even worse on our system, because Bioware has already got the memo: "ps3 gamers are ok with choppy ports, as long as it is playable, so let them have it!".

I hope my friend that now you understand my point better.

Not at all, it was more like a sarcastic answer from my part, sorry if you got it wrong. PS3 version should run on pair with 360 one that's for sure (PC is kinda beyond comparison). Dunno, maybe PS3 version is crippled deliberately, just like some PC games are being crippled and run like crap on AMD cards or are unplayable (see RAGE) while having no issues on nVidia cards and only after awhile it's fixed?

As for frame rate improving after awhile of playing for some... Seems more like placebo to me.

We got a reply a while back with them saying they are "investigating" the problem.

Yes.

Even though the gameplay isn't that bad, the cutscenes are still quite below acceptable

^^ Certain missions are also very very bad in terms of performance. Most side missions dont seem to be optimized for the PS3 and prime examples of main missions with FPS issues are Tuchanka, Mars, Earth etc.

The weird thing that I have noticed is that the game also stutters and drops frames apparently because the game finds it hard to stream the levels from the BR drive. It is clearly a loading/streaming issue because once the loading is completed then the framerate is ok. On second you have choppy framerate and once the streaming is done and you are in the exact same spot, the framerate is good.

What baffles me is why the PSN version of the game does the same? It clearly show how little (if any) optimization the PS3 version got. I mean these problems are clear signs of sloppy port work.

The least Bioware can do is address it and fix it by polishing and optimizing the code for the PS3.

Hey guys just wanted to say I asked @masseffect on twitter if there is any word yet, I doubt I will get a definitive answer or any form of a straight answer but a girl's gotta try right? Especially seeing as how they are ignoring us on their own forums.
