You are 100% right springwagen, you really are.
Sadly I have pre-ordered my CE from GAME in the UK and given their stock supply situation, which is bad, I fear that cancelling my pre-order will mean no CE at all.
So if BioWare doesn't say something before the release I will either have to cancel the pre-order (loosing probably my only chance to get the CE) or risk everything and take ME3 anyway hoping that the frame rate will be NORMAL in the final game.
In my same same situation there are probably thousands of PS3 owners all around the world so, as you can imagine, things are not easy for us.

Ironically this is the first time in my life that I have pre-ordered a CE...I love ME franchise so much that I thought that buying the CE would have been the best way to celebrate the conclusion of such an epic saga.
Now instead than being joyful and happy for the incoming release I have this terrible sensation that BioWare has abandoned me & PS3.

I want everything to go well, truly, but the more they stay silent the more my fears grow.

efg

Although I pre-ordered the standard one, I totally understand your situation, it's a tough call.
Let's hope Bioware ends fast with this uncertainty, and for the best.

Yeah the silence is never good.

I want to pre order the CE too on PS3, but I really want to know if Bioware want to do something about this issue.

i feel for all of you really... Bioware's silence certainly isnt a good sign... it pretty much implies that the final version will be shipped with such horrible performance. Because if it wasnt the case they would have already told us to not be afraid and that the retail version doesnt have these issues...

Now the only thing that seems pausible is a day one patch fixing these problems.

I really wish however that I am wrong... I really do!

Don't buy the game before you know more about it. The silence from BioWare is all information you need to cancel your preorders. If the game is in better condition than the demo, then get it. Otherwise, save your money to another game instead. Don't fool yourself or take a chance.

^^This

I for one will be waiting for a review of the full game befor i make a purchase. If the frame rate problem is still there will not be buying and will wait till fixed or just move on.

Listen to the reviewers and, even more important, head over to this forum for reflections from us gamers. Only then you will know if this is something worth buying. If you have the game day 1 or day 2 or day 10 really does not matter in the long run.
Gaming should be pleasure, not frustration.

Well I guess I will go along for the ride and keep my pre-order of Collector's edition. I will not open it until I find out if the frame rate is solved. Happy gaming all and I'm done with this subject...it's obviously not going to get answered..

I stopped posting in this thread some time ago, but after reading the additional pages, I'll add one more tidbit:

Imagine that you are BW, and you have made ME3 PS3 inferior to it's counterparts. You know it is, and the demo shows that. People are complaining on the forums, and demanding answers. Do you a)keep silent and hope that most people will remain faithful and keep their pre-orders and intentions of buying on day 1 based on the reputation you generated from previous games, OR b)come out and admit that the PS3 gold version is indeed as bad as the demo, and that even though they may or may not have a repair plan in mind, there are no guarantees that it will achieve parity?

Choosing B would mean that within hours, masses of people would be directed to the thread, and masses of pre-orders and day-1-purchasers would forsake the game, therefore costing them millions. Which do you think they will do? I'm not stupid by any measure, so I'll be sitting on the sidelines, watching release. I don't *need* to be a day 1 buyer of anything. I'll watch reviews and comparisons.

Sucks for you CE guys. Man, I feel for ya. Maybe it if sucks, you could ebay it or sell it to some unwitting person who doesn't read game sites, hehe.

I purchased it but I'm not opening it on day one. Waiting to see if there is an issue. The goodies inside are tempting but I won't settle for a bad gaming experience.

I have also pre-ordered the CE and I don't want to give it up, that's why I personally am desperate to find out what's going on!, I mean PS3 is my favourite console and I want this game for it....but this silence is not encouraging me to keep it.

IF we do not receive word from Bioware by the 6th March. I will indeed cancel my PS3 pre-order and see about pre-ordering the CE on xbox if possible...though I DO NOT want to have to do that, it is much better than having one of my favourite games implode on me when I'm trying to have a good time.

On an un-related note, it was the same with Skyrim, we got ignored, and I for one took my game back and managed to get a full refund, with which I bought Batman: Arkham City. I hope I don't have to do that with one of my favourite games, for a start there is nothing else out at that time I want.

Edit: Scratch that, there is no way I will be able to get the CE on Xbox if I cancel it. So please BioWare Let Us Know What the Heck is going on!

Well I dont much patience either... if by the end of this week we have no news concerning this issue from Bioware I will also cancel my preorder. I want to know what I am paying for. Right now I am not sure. Just like I wasnt sure all this time, since I hadnt seen not a single image/video from PS3 version.

Bioware please address your fans.

I have to add that strangely few seems interested in knowing if the final version will indeed have bad frame-rate: in fact it seems that we on these forums are the only ones.
I checked my usual forums and there are, at best, 10-12 people discussing about this and almost no thread is longer than 2 pages...we are the only ones fighting for the entire PS3 community.

And that is exactly why we are getting treated like this. People are content with getting an inferior product for the same price. So why should they give a crap? People buy it anyway right?

Thats the problem my friend... we are...

I for one aint going to allow this. I know I know, I am not going to hurt Bioware big time...as if they care for one sale... but hell I am going to do it so I can feel good about it.

I am done being treated as a second rate customer. Last time I did that mistake was Skyrim. Never again.  If people are happy playing a choppy version while everyone else enjoys a smooth experience then good for them. I will not pay the same money for a worse experience.

Yes, I know what you mean! But imo this is a very important issue, this franchise deserves to be played at its best. After the well known Skyrim issue people are more aware of these problems and concerned. The games are all but cheap, and gamers don't want to throw way their money.
I just wish that Bioware could tell us that this is only a demo problem, and that the final product will be smooth as silk! :P

You know what's also crazy guys: some people have the guts to say "I have seen no low frame-rate".
Digital Foundry MEASURED it but still they say "Everything's fine"

You are right Valkyre4: we are the problem...luckily not all of us!

P.S.
If everything will end well guys I would love to play ME3 online with you at least once.
I believe we would make great team: "the ones that stood firm against BioWare"

Just joking BioWare; if we are here is because we love Mass Effect: we love it so much that we are even willing to "fight" you ;)

I noticed it like 5 seconds into the start up of the demo, I blinked several times to make sure. Heck my dad when he played it was like "woah that makes me dizzy"

Count with me! I have been a loyal fan of this saga since years ago.

I have also ordered the Collector's edition for PS3, and i hope that the low framerate problem of the demo gets fixed for the final product.

If anyone wants to side with me on the multiplayer, i'm pusco on PSN.

Come to think of it, the PS2 version didn't have the greatest frame rate so I'm not counting on ME3 to....

Just ordered my Collector's Edition for PS3 today, and hope that the final build has better performance. It happened the same with ME2 demo but then the full version runs very well, so I don't think that Bioware is going to give us a game that hardly runs over 20fps.

If you expect the PS3 version to perform exactly the same as 360 version, I think it is not likely to happen. Even ME2 on PS3 still doesn't reach the same level of performance as the 360 version although PS3 version looks sharper and cleaner.

Regardless of frame rate issues and glitches, as long as the final PS3 version of ME3 doesn't crash and is not terribly problematic like skyrim, I don't think Bioware would seriously come up with the solutions.

Just in my opinion, ME3 is a good business between Bioware and Microsoft as ME3 showcase at E3 2011 showed only xbox 360 version gameplays and as ME3 supports only Kinect. At websites like gamespot and IGN, when it comes to ME3, they always show 360 version of the game. No surprises if PS3 version of ME3 will be left behind as the 360 version would sell more. If the PS3 version will sell less copies, the developers would not put so much effort as the 360 version.

For this gaming generation, 360 is always the primary developing platform for the developers. No surprises why the 360 versions of most multi-platform games always look and perfom better than the PS3 versions. I'm sure it will be like this for the rest of this generation. ME3 would not be an exception to this.

For those who own both PS3 and 360 and have ME2 save files, if the PS3 turns out to be inferior to 360, why bother with PS3 version, just get the 360 version instead. You are luckier because you can just choose to buy either version.

For Mass Effect nuts, PS3 is not the right platform for you. Availability of ME2 and ME3 on PS3 is a bonus for gaming on PS3 as the series was intended to be 360 exclusives. For PS3 folks, just enjoy your MGS4 and other PS3 exclusives.

Are you even remotely serious???

No really, are you serious?

PS3 "is not the right platform for me"?? That is according to you a perfectly acceptable "logic"? You mean it is not Bioware's fault for not making the game run well on PS3, it is MY FAULT for buying a PS3?

What a load of BULL****! Take that stuff elsewhere please. If you want to flame some kind of pathetic fanboy console war take it someplace else... PS3 has proven it is more than capable of producing graphics much better and more complicated than the ones we see in ME3 and at the same time run flaulessly. In fact if you look at the list with the most impressive looking console games this gen, the PS3 has the most games out there.

So take that "PS3 is not the right system for you elsewhere". This has to be the most lame excuse I have ever heard, trying to justify the unjustifiable... If Bioware thinks they are not competent enough to provide 30 frames per second on PS3 then they have 2 options:

A) Dont release the game on PS3 to begin with

B) Sell it at a cheaper price.

Enough with the BS all around... if someone is at fault that the game performs poorly that is Bioware ALONE. Not PS3's problem and certainly not mine. Again if they cant do a better job, then they simply are sucky at what they do.

My God, the amount of crap we are seeing around here trying to "justify" this is unheard of...

I'm no fanboy. I'm a PS3 owner. And I didn't mean it's anyone's faults to buy a PS3.

Like you guys, I'm looking forward to play ME3 on my PS3 as well. Let's hope the ME3 on PS3 wouldn't be that bad.
