Im really looking forward to getting this patch, as it is going to fix the dexterity bonus of bow/daggers/crossbow.

When can we expect it then?

'fix the dexterity bonus of bow/daggers/crossbow.'

the hotfix you mentioned ruins whole game, as it destroys difficulty level- enemy archers become too powerful. a bioware dev said that they would fix it in official patch but with leaving the same gameplay

enemy level archers become powerful, it's true but a good mix of earthquake and one archer of your own helps immensely. Since I started using this fix, Lelliana is more often in my party, my rogue assassin duellist sometimes uses his bow and even Allistair gets to play with his crossbow for a least one shot or two.

I'm with the OP on this one. I've read about the hotfix but I'm not particularly keen on having an unintended imbalance in the gameplay that favours opponents. Furthermore, the hotfix has to be manually removed before you use any official patches which entails more work...so I choose to suffer through it for now and focus on my warrior or mage. Guess I'll keep the rogue on the sidelines for now.

Last I read was that BioWare are hoping to release 1.02 sometime this week, but that could change depending on how testing is going etc. Like Herethos said, it's done when it's done. Seriously, would you rather they rush a patch out just to fix a few things only to break even more?

Man they need to stop worrying about combat "balancing" and fix the quest, dlc and game stopping bugs. As of now any combat bugs I have seen or heard of I'd consider "minor" game issues compared to the other things that have gone wrong with this game

I am totally with you, I would much rather have a game that I can play, instead of a balanced class game that I can't.

Wow, even more powerful enemy archers? Archers (even white colored) are the most dangerous foes in this game. Sometimes worse than 2 Flemeth :)

I would guess that with the Thanksgiving holiday coming so soon, we won't see the patch until the 30th or so.

You are aware that the dagger bugfix actually fixes a disadvantage they didn't implement properly, yes?

Right now you get +0.85 damage per point invested in Str/Cun. The fix changes that to the intended +0.425 points of damage per point in Dex or Str/Cun.

+1 to fixing the memory leak and affinity problem first. I cannot play the game longer than 20-30 minutes before having to reboot due to insane slow-downs.

Enemy archers are indeed pretty devastating, especially at the level I'm at now (15), wouldn't want to see them with the unofficial fix...

It's turkey week here in the US. If Bioware is like any other company vacation mode started Monday morning at the coffee pot.

what is this memory leak? i haven't seen any slow down yet even after hours of playing.
Bioware really need to put into this patch a lot of works. When i place the mouse over Str and Dex, it says Str add 0.5 attack to melee attack, and dex add 1 attack to ranged attack, but my attack remains the same no matter what weapon i use, bow or sword. This is just the most stupid bug i have ever seen. How could bioware write false description about basic stats??? That's not to say other bugs: dex bug, duel striking bug (not sure, many people think it's bugged), rapid shoot+haste bug, death blow bug... well, too many. Technical bugs is acceptable for a new game, but too much gameplay bugs like this is unacceptable.

Though the Bug is stupid. After rethinking my strategies(I.E. Line of sighting enemy archers) and using crowd control spells I'm not to mad about the disparity. It adds a little flavor to my game and makes me work harder to win a fight. What I do dislike is not being able to even open a saved game and play because of DLC issues. That needs to get fixed first.

Yes

If you just want to fix the DEX bonus for daggers you can download this hotfix here instead:
social.bioware.com/project/428/#details

It only fixes Daggers and nothing else. No overpowered archer enemies, nothing! :bandit:

Except Bioware is based in Canada, and Canadian thanksgiving is some other week entirely.

But like Georg's fix it breaks Shale's crystals and grants Sten and Alistair -10% base fatigue,

We get that out of the way in October. :)
Otherwise it's too cold to chase the turkeys and the wild carnivorus penguins get them all.Posted Image
