O hai.
So earlier today, like many other people, I rushed home from work, downloaded the ME3 demo, and hit play... only to be told that my hardware was insufficient. Fair enough. I went out, bought a new graphics card, installed it, and now I meet/exceed all the requirements. Excited, I pressed play again...
Only to be met with a black screen and a loading circle.
Circling.
And circling.
And circling.
Why isn't it working? Is anyone else having this problem?
(Incidentally, since installing my new graphics card, Mass Effect 2 won't launch, either, but I will post more in detail about that in the appropriate forum)
Demo, y u no work?

Can you provide more information about your new graphics card, how you installed it, and what drivers you are using? If this is affecting Mass Effect 2 after you installed the graphics card chances are that you installed it improperly.

I got myself a NVIDIA GeForce GT 520, installed it the way you would install any graphics card (take off the side panel, take the old one out, slide the new one in, connect the monitor, replace the side panel). The drivers were the ones that can on an installation disk with the hardware.

Ok, try this: go to the official Nvidia website and enter in your information to download the latest driver set. When installing it, pick the "clean install" option, which should remove previous Nvidia drivers while installing the new ones.
Note that I'm not an Nvidia user, so I can't speak to the stability of these drivers. Also note that the GT 520 is borderline on the minimum requirements for ME3; something like the Geforce GT 430 or the Radeon HD 6570 would have been a good deal better. What did you upgrade from?

I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was 2 1/2 years old and didn't meet the requirements. Yes those other ones would have been better but they would have also been about twice as expensive, and I would have had to get a new power supply, too.
Still, thanks for the help. I'll go make sure I have the newest drivers.
