I finished the demo earlier tonight and while I enjoyed it immensily I do have one little issue. As the title implys good old Captain Kirrahe makes an appearance on Surkesh in the PS3 demo, just as he does in the alternate versions. If you've played ME2 on PS3 you should know that Kirrahe's is dead by default, even with the use of the Genesis comic. Which means that he will most likely be unavailable to any PS3 players when the actual game releases, regardless of what choices they made previously. So not only has Bioware teased veteran PS3 players that were already pissed that they didn't have an opportunity to save Kirrahe previously, but they've also confused new players who have no idea who he is and will be even more lost when he's not present in the final game.

Exactly. If he's dead on every ps3 playthrough by default what the hell is he doing there.

Have to assume it's just a component of the straight port from the 360. I'll be pretty pissed if he's dead on import from ME2 and alive on new game in ME3.

Wait Captain Kirrahe don't even have an appearance in the 360 version of ME2. And if he lived there is nothing that really says he is Alive in the 360 version. His name just pops up when talking to Mordin "I met him on Virmire" unless the conversation is different if he is dead?
I guess what I'm saying is there anyway to know if he lived or died in ME2 unless you played ME1 and know if he live?

I played the 360 version of the ME3 demo, and he was in it.

I don't remember him dying at all previously, but it has been a long time since I've played the last two.

I can confirm that Kirrahe's tagged deceased on ps3. Mordin states that he's "sorry to hear he died on Virmire."

Afaik Wrex is dead in ME2 too, if you create a new Shepard, right?
So either BW changed the "canon" with ME3 - if you start a new playthrough in ME3, Kirrahe & Wrex may be alive again

Let's see what happens when we play the full game with our imports.
Should be interesting...

Genesis saves Wrex, you can choose to kill him or not.

But what got me thinking is maybe Mordin heard wrong?

Anyone asked a dev? Its an annoying issue otherwise as I WANT kirrahe in my playthrough and find it irritating if he can be in a demo but not in the game.

I saw Kirrahe in the Demo.

What I did was create a Male Shepard, (Kaiden died), Spacer, War Hero and did paragon things in the first part of the demo or... something.

And then Kirrahe appeared in the 2nd part of the demo. Odd.

Man I want Kirrahe in the final game. But I dont think they can pull a 180 from 2 to 3 with him being dead no matter what you do. I guess they could just keep him alive if you only play 3 and not 2. But then people who played 2 get the shaft since we cant see one of the greatest characters in Mass Effect, EVER.
I am going to be so sad in the final game when someone else is there in stead of Kirrahe and I cant do anything about it.Image IPB

I'm really not sure. It could be his epic speach :

It could be he just is a total BADA** or the fact that he is the one character from Mass Effect 1 I actually give a damn about but I cant do anything to save him.

I just watched it, his speech was nice, but seriously, of all the deep and well-written characters introduced in this series, he's the ONLY one you give a damn about? You must have hated ME2 then.

All right I kinda said that wrong. I never played 1, I only watched Walkthroughs on Youtube, so I could never connect to the characters. But when I saw that Speach for the first time..I had chills down my back. I was in awe. I guess thats why I love the character so much. Even though it wasn't me playing I was still in awe.

I loved 2 had some great characters and I could interact with my self. I know Wrex and Garrus were in 1 (2 of my favorite characters) but when I first talked to them/met them it was in 2 so I met them in 2 and not 1.

See what I am getting at? If not I cant blame you I can never get thoughts from my head to the paper (or keyboard in this case)

I just held the line again with ME1.
Damn haven't played it for a while now and I got the same chills that I got the first time hearing the speech.

I haven't had a SINGLE ME1 playthrough in which he hasn't died...and I tried hard! I'm sure they'll come up with an explanation, like, the salarians extracted him before he bled to death...maybe he just got knocked out or something :P

You need to give his team the one you want to survive virmire.
Then you need to help his team by destryoing everything that may give them trouble and then make sure you dont send troops their way.
That is how I saved him on the PC.

Perhaps they are hinting in a sense that there is yet another interactive comic that allows you to pick what happened in certain events? For example whether or not Kirrathe (And the two NPC love interests) lives and whom lives in the suicide mission. This is just wild man guessing but to me this would make sense especially for those without ME1 on PS3

Um i think you just have to help them out as they attack Saren base; i had kaidan join his squad, he later died on my playthrough and yet Kirrahe survived.

It is only implied that Kirrahe is dead. Mordin states that he met Kirrahe on Virmire and herd that he died.

Guys, I recently did a run on ME2 PS3, and I can confirm Mordin DOES NOT state that he's sorry Kirrahe died...take from that what you will.

I think he may be alive again, if you start a new Shep in ME3 and don't import from ME2, but no idea why you would want to though, I can imagine you'd see him again after that encounter
