Yep, he says "Heard Kirrahe died on Virmire" or something to that effect.

By DEFAULT, Kirahee is dead. IF, in ME1, you saved the VS that was on the beach with Kirahee AND blew up all the attack drones launching from the base BEFORE they could go to the beach, Kirahee survives AND Mordin will say "I heard he survived Virmire."

You don't have to send the one you want to save with him. I sent Kaiden with him and sacrificed Kaiden and completed the four tasks on my way into the base and saved the Salarian squad. So far as I know only Kaiden died on Virmire. It's the four tasks that are important for saving him. Also just finished ME2 on PS3 with all DLC and Mordin definately said he heard Kirrahe was dead so it will be interesting to see how Bioware work that.

I have played ME1 and 2 on PC but on PS3 the comic you listen to and pick choices that you could in ME 1... stupid MS for not letting PS3 get the 1st game anyways theres no way to keep him alive by default hes dead on the PS3!! Bio said 1000+ different choices that can be showed though out ME 3 from the choices you made in ME 1 and 2... what I don't get is its way less cuz you only have what 4 or 5 different choices in the ME 2 comic! Plz don't screw us PS3 players out of some of the ME 1 choices!!

What we need is a mass effect 1 port to ps3 or if you cant port it then re make it so us ps3 players can play it or make a nices little 2hour long preStory the let us make some more choises about what happen before mass effect 2 the comic is to small and it dont give us the choises we need re make the comic and let us make better choises give us MORE or re make mass effect 1 and sell it us a ps3 exclusive trust me we will buy it

I dont know why Mordin say to you that Kirrahe is dead on PS3. I completed twice ME2 on PS3 and Mordin said in both walkthroughs that he heard Kirrahe survived Virmire. Note that I kept Wrex alive on the comic.

That's strange, I always let Wrex live and Kirrahe is mentioned as dead.

Do you remeber what other choices you made?

Male Shepard 1: Relationship Ashley, Wrex Alive, Rachni Queen Alive, Kaidan Dead, Anderson -> Kirrahe Alive

Female Shepard 1: RS: Liara, Wrex alive, rachni queen alive, Ashley dead, Udina -> Kirrahe Alive

Male Shepard 2: RS: none, Wrex alive, Rachni queen dead, Kaidan Dead, Udina -> Kirrahe Dead

Maybe it's something about the relationships that makes kirrahe dead or alive?

I also recently did a run through.  And I can confirm that Mordid DOES state that Kirrahe died.  ... Take from that what you will.

It depends who you saved on Virmire. Did you save the one you sent with Kirrahe's teams or did you save the one who stayed with the bomb.

This is the PS3 version we're talking about. ME1 on PS3 doesn't exist.

So, can we pretty much chalk this up to a better on 360 thing? I want to have Kirrahe alive, but I didn't want to get involved in a relationship...so, the best way to do this is pretty much go back and replay on either PC or 360? Love the Salarians (actually, I just love most of the alien races in ME, well except the Asari, but that's neither here nor there) and this character seemed really interesting. Hopefully my current, rage inducing (due to PS3 glitches) profile will have him alive.

Well there are certain benefits to the PS3 version. The game is all on one Blu-ray disc instead of 2 or 3 or however many it will be on Xbox., plus PSN is free so if you're into co-op you can enjoy that feature without paying subscription fees.

As far as story content goes, you could argue that the 360 version is better. But the thing is. Bioware assumes that most PS3 owners have never played ME1. So when you're talking about ME1 side characters and cameos like Captain Kirrahe, they aren't going to know what they missed out on.

It's all subjective really. I played the first game on 360 and the 2nd on PS3 and I'm plan to finish the 3rd game on Ps3. To me, Captain Kirrahe was probably the least interesting side character from ME1. So I don't really care.

Balak is one more character which plays a bit of crucial role. Character introduced in ME1 dlc bring down sky, while he is said to be dead by default in me2 (galactic news says it) and in me3 he is begin considered a war asset.

Wow, I played ME1 Xbox360, ME2 xbox360 and switching to Ps3 ME2 this week and ME3 once my collector edition arrives. However, this news is sad!

Anyone know if there will be a better interactive comic for ME3? I haven't heard anything. Unfortunately, I only comeback to the Bioware forums when they are about to release a new single player game: ME, DA, Jade, etc.

Well it would be a damn shame if only way to get Captain Kirrahe on the PS3 version of ME3 was to play a new Shepard too.

Afaik Wrex is dead in ME2 too, if you create a new Shepard, right?
So either BW changed the "canon" with ME3 - if you start a new playthrough in ME3, Kirrahe & Wrex may be alive again

They probably changed the defaults so players who don't/cant import will still get the full experience.

If I remember correctly when I chosed to save Ashley via Mass effect Genesis, it showed Kaiden and Captain Kirrahe. When I chosed to save Kaiden it showed Ashley and Captain Kirrahe.
Does it mean that either way that Captain Kirrahe will die?
I really hope that is not the case because Kirrahe is my favorite Salarian.

I just played ME1 and if you kill Ash the Cap is alive since hes on the team that Kaidan is on but if you kill Kaiden the cap is a gonner!
