I was able to get the game working again after a full reinstall... but I shouldn't have to do that!

Just to clarify, a full Windows reinstall? That's not good... I could live without the demo, but am now worried that the full game will have the same problem:(

Hi! I'm sorry to hear this is occurring! I have forwarded this issue. Has there been any problems launching other games or demos from Origin?

Please continue to post any additional information that might help in tracking down a solution to this issue. Thanks!

Only Other games have in Origin is DA2, and no issues there. Thanks for the response.

ive got the solution ... got the same error as you ... the reason for this error is origin, this damn software is not capable of installing directx right...
Just Download the file "xinput1_3.dll" ... you can find this file in most games like "Alan Wake" "Call of Duty MW3" and so on

Hope it works for all of you too!!!

Have a nice evening and btw: One does not simply install games via origin

I've got the same error message. I tried reinstalling all the DirectX .dll files direct from the Microsoft site, but had no luck. Annoyingly it worked fine before I reinstalled my operating system last week after a hardware upgrade!

I had these files and it still doesn't work for me.  I think it might be related to IE8 vs IE9 on Windows 7 machines, since that's the only thing different on my second install (I have two Windows installs, one works, one doesn't). Does anyone here have the issue with IE8?

No luck for me with the DLL fix (an issue I'd solved when another game was giving me problems).

This would be much easier if the missing DLL was in English.

Try to repair the installation by right clicking in Origin and going to Repair Installation. I am doing that now and it seems to be downloading something. I will let you know wether or not it works.

Ok time to update my status, good news I was able to repair the installation via Origin and the game is working.

It seems to have fixed the Physx issue I had, currently I have a folder with v2.8.3 installed.

Thanks for the help, Bioware:).
Uninstalling it completely did help, and thanks to the new "Hide" option I don't even have to see the ME3 in my library. And I probably won't. Ever.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for your concern over this issue. I come to you with questions - questions that might aid our investigation of this issue.

1: What language is your operating system set to?
2: What language is Origin set to?

I have this same problem, only sometimes it brings up a pop-up that says
C:\\Windows\\system32\\d3dx9_42.dll

is either corrupted or missing. It's only come up a few times, and for the rest of the time it's the error posted by the OP. I only thought of copying and pasting this part into a word document for later use, so I don't have the rest of the popup, but it was basically just telling me to try a reinstallation and talk to an advisor.
.
In System32, I found D3DX9_42.dll. Also, in...

C:/Program Files (x86)/Origin Games/Mass Effect 3/_Installer/directx/redist

...I found two cabinet files named Aug2009_d3dx9_42_x64 and Aug2009_d3dx9_42_x86. And in both of those is d3dx9_42.dll. But that would mean that it's corrupted and not missing, so... Oh, now my head hurts.

To answer the last questions, my Origin is set to English, and so is my operating system (at least according to the Control Panel, because I don't know how to check it any other way).

Hope I helped. I really want this fixed so I can play the game and finally get to run around with limbs all a-flailing, yelling, "I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favorite game on the Citadel!"

That popup just came up again. Turns out I was wrong and it doesn't say "corrupted or missing", it says "not designed to run on Windows or has an error". Again, hope I helped.

I installed a fresh copy of Win 7 Pro and updated with the latest Win updates, downloaded Origin and the game. No luck. My error says "Invalid license - missing dll: <Chinese characters that do not make any actual Chinese words>. Error code: 0x0000045a". Tried repairs, tried reinstall of the game. Origin is up-to-date. Just reinstalled Origin and now re-downloading the game again...

Support was no help at all!
There are 2 ways to fix this, you can either reinstall windows or you can get a programm like "DLL-Files.com FIXER". This Programm will fix all your dll-files and you can play.

P.S. My god the ending was bad
