Did you people actually want fully rendered 3d models running around down there?! Are you mental?! Don't forget that the game is running on 7 years old hardware!

Don't worry guys, they cut out the real people running because it's only the demo and they needed to fit the size requirement.

And they're all going to have high resolution textures - the full game is going to be wonderful.

OP must be one of the few actually admiring the background instead of his/her Shepard (´ass).

My problem is that they're all running sideways. Like... what are they even doing?

Wow...just...wow. It's unbelievable that Bioware can fail so hard in a demo meant to get people to buy the game... I am sooooooo glad I haven't pre-ordered ME3!

What are you talking about? The ME3 is by no means bad. The 2D graphics are just a little out of place. But considering 99% of all players will never even look down there it makes sense they don't waste resources by using 3d models there.

lol indeed that was funny. but seriously who cares really on something that small really?

You dont know gamers buddy.... especially on pc if there is one thing wrong they will find it they will look at every little detail.

 no kidding :huh: people these days expect to much

Look at how much cash the CoD franchise, which hasn't evolved in over 5 iterations, brings in and say that again. People these days expect too little. For crying out loud, lowering expectations is the worst you can do as a consumer. It makes things evolve backwards. Just look at the music industry...or any industry now for that matter.

NICE CATCH! Reminds me of final fight where all the characters could only look 2 ways, so you walked up while looking left or right.

Exactly. Why do you think Lagrim received so much praise? The horrors of Fallout 3 and Oblivion meant that Beth-tards had lowered expectations coming into Dullrim's release. When it wasn't as bad as Bethesduh's previous trash, everybody gave it 9s and 10s, simply for being good. Adequate. Average.

Well it's either than. or the sprite being invisible when viewed from certain angles.

It's just sad to see how the company that created Baldur's Gate, Planescape Torment and so many other signature games ended up just an EA lackey that will cut corners on every opportunity to "streamline" production and cut costs to increase profits.

It was apparent really with Dragon Age 2 but sadly the trend seems to continue with the Mass Effect Series and their blatant copy of "wow in space" game without adding any original ideas.

Rest in Peace Bioware !

Planescape: Torment was a piece of crap. Almost all top-down RPGs were, going all the way back to the Ultimas. Completely unplayable tripe, from 1 to 9 and every spin-off in between.

I love sprite art, but it does look pretty shoddy in a 3D game. It's not a big deal (I didn't even notice it in five playthroughs) but it still shouldn't be happening in an AAA game of Mass Effect's calibre.

Well, feel free to continue playing those old games. Bioware has moved on.

You don't play Torment for the graphics or gameplay. Hell, i had to enable god mode because i couldn't handle the gameplay. But i'll be damned if it didn't have one of the most deep, complex and original video game stories ever.

I'm honestly 99% sure you didn't play more than 30 minutes of Torment before passing judgment.

Nothing wrong with that. Made them look like ants which is just like how the Reapers see them.

I-I just... what?

Like, if you took the OP's video and tilted up, you'd see gigantic Reapers in the background, attacking the city. These little 2D sprites are a bonus, not a detriment. They could have just as easily put NOTHING in those spots, because they're hard to see...

Do people think time and money are unlimited?

And like, okay, The Old Republic doesn't have any original ideas? Okay, Okay.

Have you heard of "Mass Effect" it's simular to Star Wars in that it's also Science Fiction. But, it's an entirely original Universe created by BioWare. With Original Fiction and Lore. Also original Characters and Races...

Oh great, another thread about one of the following subjects:

- Bioware catering to console noobs;
- Bioware catering to loyal fanboys;
- Bioware catering to newer fans, but neglecting “old”, “loyal”, and “old school” fans;
- Bioware bowing down do to the wishes of their EA overlords;
- This game is going to be the worst Bioware game ever!!!111!!! Just look at *insert random game here*!!!!
- Dumbing down of RPG elements;
- This game does not have the things that I want;
- This game is not similar to it’s predecessor.

I think I should really quit coming to these forums. I would NEVER have noticed that little detail until my 20th playthrough. Now it'll be in my face from day one. Thanks OP.
