Revive: We seriously need a different button

The "A: Revive" button callout appears. I hit A. 1/5 times my character will actually begin the revival process. 1/5 times my character will stand there doing nothing. 3/5 times my character will slide into cover. This is a pretty big problem. I don't stress since I'm only playing bronze with randoms right now, but I'd be pissed off if this happened during a gold run on a late wave, or after we've used consumables.

Why can't we have this mapped to the Back button? It doesn't seem to be bound to anything in multiplayer.

I've never had an issue with it. I think the trick is to not move the joystick after you see the Revive A button prompt.

Its better on PC!
Dont know if your A button does anything else than reviving(i assume its same with PCs) but while playing with a pc we revive with space key, which is also sprint, roll&cover and use.
I look like monkeys when i try to revive someone, rolling on my squad mate or sprinting to unknown...

Definitely agree on this. Should be X or something.

Agreed, the amount of times i've went into cover while trying to revive someone.

Yeah it is a pain. I have had a few problems letting my guy think he has to run away or roll around the poor team mate. I say the back buttion or one of the L3 or R3 can do the trick as they are not used are they?

Not moving the joystick prevents dodge rolling instead of reviving, but you can still end up sliding into cover. This is very common when the person you're reviving was in cover when they were downed.

@Cyberarmy: Yeah, it's the same for 360. A is cover/dodge/activate/revive/sprint. I know what they're trying to do, but if I see a prompt and the button does anything other than what the prompt says, then it's broken. If Bioware submitted ME3 to EA CERT, then they at least got a severe out of that one.

I agree with this. The space button has way too many functions in multiplayer,
Especially on the harder difficulties it's annoying to fail your revive.

I'm fine that the use/storm/vault button exists, but at least let us map them separately on PC. I've got 20 years of muscle memory that says E is Use, Shift is storm, and space is vault; and I can't be the only one.

Most likely. Controls are pretty screwy all around. Why wouldn't your guy keep reloading when you move out of cover?

How silly.

Separate the interact function from cover/sprint/dodge.

E.g. F key is interact and spacebar is cover/sprint/dodge.

Not sure how this would be done on console, could move interact to the X/Square button like someone suggested.

This!  PC here and having the same issue, one of the few flaws with Multiplayer.

No offense to our console brothers but not being able to map keys (in MP) = console port corner cutting on PC.  Hate to see that stuff on top rate PC games.

I asked one of the devs about this, basicaly they said that it's too late to change it now as the game has gone gold and all the other configs they tried didn't work out so well.

Imo, use button could have been easily placed on same button as reload/switch wepons is at.

X would be more logical, reload is faster than trying to get out of cover.

agree ... for my taste there is to much use of "spacebar" (or "A" for Xbox users) for to many things in the mulitplayer...actually in the singleplayer too

Noooooo do not make it X please! For some reason whenever I press X to reload it changes my guns...if they make X into revive I'll probably just be switching guns the entire time and not reviving...

Space key pc == A button XBox
They do the same thing and maybe too much at the same time B)
But you don't have that many option available anyway for console.

The back button? Oh, man... I dunno why they didn't return grenades to the back button. I'm gonna have to remap almost all my build plans because there are only 3 hotkeys.

I was hoping grenade was back so that I could have 2 active powers and a class power available without pausing.

separate keys to avoid conflict, confusion
more fluid animation less rigid robotic, fluid smooth control

are the least yet absolutely must for action game, keep this in mind bioware,
Why cusomers need to remind this basic to dev?

Rockstar games does polish games tenfold better, k.

You are not. I had serious problems with the controls in the MP demo. It came to the point where it actually affected my performance in game. Died more than once because of the weird controls.

It was alright for ME2 as it was mostly a slower game but if you make the game more action-packed you've to rethink the controls...
