Am I the only one that actually wants to pay for a massive expansion or two?

I'd actually rather pay 1600microsoft points for something that's 10hours, and maybe even 800 for a KOTN sized DLC(4-5hours) that gives you stuff that actually LOOKS GOOD AND IS UNIQUE(i'm slowly getting over it, but Bergens Honor was a direct slap to the face.. a slap I can't return).
I mean seriously, the DLC in this game is even shorter than Fable 2's 2hour DLCs.

Consumers are like water, they flow into and fill any conceivable container presented to them, hence why DLC appears to be so desired.

Not a 30 minute dungeon you go through for some items.

I don't consider three snacks to be substitutes for a real meal. I'm ready to pay full price for something that is full length. I don't mind having an extension at 50 or 60 bucks if it delivers as much content as the game.

Don't ask about a desert if you haven't finished your meal.

In the meantime, there'll be Mass effect, borerlands, Modern warfare 2 , Left 4 Dead and countless other opportunities to waste my time on FULL games rather than additonal scraps.

Don't buy it then my friend, I'm not a fan of it either, and won't be. Bioware (EA) doesn't care what you have to say or think though, they just care if they get paid.
I'm trying not to, but the thing is I want more Dragon Age, you see. I just don't want Dragon Age crap... which is what they're giving currently.. I want something along the scopes of 1/3rd the price of Dragon Age for 1/3rd the gameplay DLC... so roughly 30bucks(2400) and 20hours gameplay...

They have been working on this game for 4 years, so be realistic. If you don't wish a hack 'n' slash expansion that can be actually done quite early, any serious expansion would take some time. Also consider that the vast majority of potential customers perhaps haven't yet bought the game (maybe waiting for xmas). As for myself, I still haven't finished the game and I have been playing quite a lot ever since my pre-order arrived.

i dont think anyone would expect an expansion to come out this fast, and while you are correct in saying that they spent all these years on it, expanding on it from this point is only a fraction of the work as to make the entire game.
all the systems for the game are already in place. they dont have to design the entire game anymore from the ground up, all of the core systems are finished. at this point its simply expanding on the world you have already created, adding more maps, quests, characters, voice acting, and so on.
of course it would still take many months to make an expansion, but i would prefer to wait and get a full expansion that added another ~40 hours of play to the game than to get nickeled and dimed for 30 minutes here and an hour there.
at the same time bioware is raking money in off of these DLC releases hand over fist, so i dont really expect to see a serious full blown expansion for the game until the DLC sales begin to fall off. if they can release 30 minutes of content and make a million+ off of it in a week, then it would just be bad business to spend 6 months on an expansion.
at the current rate the most profitable way for them to go is to keep pumping out a new DLC every week or two. if these sales keep up they will be more profitable than many of the mmo games out there with a single player game.

All the ressources being wasted in ridiculous 30-mn long lootfests are not put to contribution for an expansion, though.slikster wrote...
No, you are not the only one that wants a massive expansion. But I don't mind DLC in addition to that either. The game has been out less than a month. Keep that in mind.

Have Bioware actually said all they're going to do is release small DLC packages and no proper addons or are people jumping the gun?
apart from a promise of 2 years worth of DLC, nothing has been mentioned, so yes, people are assuming.
