The reason Consoles set the standard on the market is literally because kids buy them. Kids are the most influential consumers, and therefore are the greatest target for advertisements and companies. This is hardly new information. Kids being anyone younger than 29. Which is my personal standard ever since seeing a drunk 28 year old **** his pants in front of a cop, but that's another story.

Not exactly empirical, but it gets the point across:

  

Consoles are just expensive, glorified toys. Which is fine, imagine if people understood the value/convenience of PC gaming. A toy and tool in one? They'd price it and its games for a gagillion dollars.

The Wii is marketed towards a young fanbase but both the Xbox360 and PS3 are geared towards adult gamers. You can dispute the validity of the consoles all you want but you are flat out wrong.

Deus Ex 3 only managed 2 million and most of those sales were on console which is pretty ****ing disappointing for the most important PC franchise of 20 years which seemingly couldn't survive without it and Skyrim wouldn't have had 1/4 of the budget without the console user base.

PC gamers should welcome console gamers because if the next gen consoles don't sell then the funding and the games will dry up. Unless you consider facebook "pc gaming".

Ignorance like this is why gamers can't have nice things. Absolutely everything in this post is factually wrong, so I have decided that your opinion on PC gaming from this day forward does not count.

Oh man..I have 3 consoles and a $2000 built PC..I play consoles more than i do my pc but I was hoping Bioware wouldn't be lazy this time around and make it stunning looking for the PC...$2000 down the drain. Bioware should compensate me a free collectors for xbox since I dont want fugliness on my elite PC no way no how.

DOWN WITH EA!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Mass Effect 3 might be the last game I buy sadly. After that back to Steam! =D

There are 1.5 billion PCs in the world. I'm sure that at least 5% of them are capable of running games.
