It looks totally awkward when sprinting and since you move so incredibly slow in the game you'll end up always sprinting.

I'm hoping her running animation in the demo isn't in the full game. If so I'm not going to be able to keep myself from laughing hysterically every time I sprint. It is absolutely horrible. I don't want to hear any "it's how a soldier runs". No human being i've ever met runs like that. Especially a woman for that matter. The closest comparison I can think of to the animation is werewolf running in Skyrim

Hopefully, they just left female animations out of the demo. Also, we don't really get a chance to manipulate her out of combat. Her non-combat walking animations might be better. But the way she hulks around in the cutscenes, with her arms hanging unnaturally far from her sides, is a bad sign.

Scruffy butch voice complements manly Shep walk.

Yeah, It's cut & paste.

Looks like LadyHawke received better treatment than FemShep.

Go figure.

On the plus side, we haven't seen Femshep manually walk yet without a gun in her hand, So we'll see.

In ME1, both Shepard walked the same when they were in combat. They only walk differently when out of combat.

I tried to examine the walk, but apparently we can holster our guns anymore. I guess Bioware feels that casual gamers aren't smart enough to do such things by themselves. We have to be scripted through every single mission....What's up with the gaming industry? Alot of games have been making crazy dev descisions about the most basic thingas that should be in the games. They take out all the cool unique stuff just to add a bunch of casual stuff.

They took it out to save memory.  It was costing them several megabytes of memory.

They were probably talking about changing cutscene animations to avoid the whole upskirt thing with Garrus if femshep was wearing the dress. They already differentiated the animations when Shepard is about to fall in the building.

Not even gonna flame current gen consoles, but we need the next wave to come out. It's a hardware limitation to holster? Get out of here...

It was really cool when the PS3 had better hardware than 95% of PCs. At that point, the sky was the limit. Now its such a hindrance to evolution.

Some of us, you know, think that commander Shepard, the Saviour of the Universe and the woman who can ****slap a krogan walking around swaying her hips would be effing ridiculous.
Though current running/walking animation is ridiculous too

Yep, still runs as if she's a 200+ pound muscular male (i.e. manshep)... when she looks to be perhaps 140 pounds and of average build instead.

Fortunately I kept my expectations low in regard to expecting unique skeletal animation for femshep.

EDIT: didn't want a "feminine" gait to her movement either.. most certainly not made girly like femhawke is in DA2... I just mean her gait shouldn't be that of a male who weighs over 200lbs (arms thrust wide out, leg animations as if she has giant tree trunks for legs, etc)... was hoping she'd move like a marathon runner, not a huge male body builder.

No, she doesn't run like a guy, both male and female Shepard run like gorillas! Posted Image But that's just nitpicking and doesn't spoil the game for me, I didn't even notice until my 2nd playthrough of the game.

That monkey-run looks just as retarded on Manshep, so I couldn't care less.

Whatever fits her character the best is the way to go, IMO - but a happy medium is always welcome.

Not a fan of extremisms - swaying her hips like a supermodel or walking like a man. She's neither.
