the parody version of the real game (playing as fem shep)

They shouldve removed the minority player and added more single player stuff :) wouldve been epic to gain an extra few hours of new content :D

Yeah, but when lady Hawke ran like a girl, everybody wanted to set Bioware on fire. Talk about hard to please.

How exactly are women supposed to run?

Animations aren't that bad. They aren't great, but they're not that bad. Anyway Female Shepard's animations only needed small subtle improvements.

Furthermore I don't have a problem with Female Shepard walking like Male Shepard. It doesn't spoil my immersion. Loose hair, cat suits and high heels in battle spoils (not ruins just spoils, I am trying to avoid exaggerations here) my immersion.

Animations being stiff and a bit wooden is ths same issue that Male Shepard has. This is not an issue of Bioware not caring about female gamers, this is an issue of Bioware having difficulty imitating real life annimations. It's fiendishly hard to do. Even with motion capture, it doesn't come off quite right.

^ if it was to be more real.. the prettied up doll i see in the parody version off mass effect 3 wouldve screamed eek and passed out or sumthing..

how can you get behind a character that looks like a fragile little model ?? Its a huge joke thats laughable.. it shouldve never happened (fem shep).

Now if they added a female character that was butch, tough, hint of scary than it wouldnt be a laughable matter.. the female krogan is more believable as a "strong character" than this parody version of shepard you girls love so much.

You didn't ask me this, but I'm currently in college, with a lot of ROTC friends (i'm a military nerd, they actually would ask me questions about some things). Many of them are female. They are WOMEN. They don't walk like John Wayne. They walk like normal girls, and in their BDUs, they still walk like women, albeit with much composure.

I think you do a disservice when you assume and claim that female soldier = masculine. Cause they aren't.  A girl that I semi-talked to is now a SFC in the army, and she is as girly as they come (except she can beat almost every guy I know at Call of Duty).

off-topic, but here is Angie Johnson, Staff Sergeant in the U.S Army singing Adele (she's on The Voice talent show now)

I didn't say that female soldiers = masculine. I said masculine female soldiers are better than feminine soldiers.

If she is bold, hair doesn't get in the way. If she is more muscular she can fight better, and take more hits. If she is not emotional she can kill without hesitation. Those are all masculine traits, ones that many males soldiers lack as well though.

im sure the 2% off the female population who are actually "pretty soldiers" are very upset.

A more believable femshep wouldve been what i said earlier.

It's a ridiculous point of complaint though.

Running is running. There is no 'masculine' or 'feminine' way to run.

You're either running properly, or you're being a poser while trying to run.

Sprinters and marathon runners, whether male or female all run the same way regardless of their sex.

The running/storm animations are bad on both. I really didn't expect to see femshep's walk/run animations to be separate from manShep's in ME3. At this point I'm used to it and don't really care. If you want to talk about immersion breaking, Anderson's "Keystone Cop" run made me laugh when I really shouldn't.

Okay I had this issue myself. I know that muscle size doesn't equate to muscle strength or even a healthy build, but I would have liked it if Female Shepard was a bit more buff. It does spoil immersion. Spoil not ruin, just spoil. As for parody, I played the demo and I don't see how this is a parody. Poor annimation at the very worst but not a parody by any means. Unless you are refeering to some youtube video that I haven't seen yet.

Its definetly a parody.

How crazy do you need to be to actually somehow trick yourself in believing the fem shep to be a real character battling out like that. She looks like a fragile little girl that would better suit a "chick flick" movie when she trys her damn hardest to win some guy over.

Not parody running around in skin tight clothes attempting to be tough and killing things with a weapon that looks bigger than her.. If i was her enemy id laugh at it.. theres nothing intimidating about her what so ever.

I think the women was pushing so hard to be a fem shep they just dont care what she looks like or how she acts haha im sure if the game was designed to be a female game from the start the women wouldnt of allowed this character to be this way..

^ a female shepard looking like this wouldnt be a parody anymore.

The only sexist people in this issue are the silly women who find the current character believeable in anyway. Unless some people actually think super models covered in makeup carrying weapons bigger than her to be a realistic thing in this world ?

...and male Shep run like a gorilla - it looks bad for both. Honestly, I have no idea how they managed to screw it up like that. One would think that they got all the animation power they want (no collaboration with EA sports?). Though, the running looks a bit less bad with armour.

It's nothing to do with masculine, males and females have a slightly but noticeable different gait when walking or running, this is a result of the difference in pelvic structure, masculinity has sod all to do with it.

The comparison between Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Naruto has just shattered what little positive outlook I had in life. Now there is nothing left. Time to die.

But she does run like that., with her hands back, it is also similar to fast running in Jade Empire. :)

Well, male shep looks more caveman in ME3 so I guess the running fits for him.
