Go play some ME2 and compare the animations between males and females. Yep. The most obvious one is Katsumi (i think that's her name) DLC when they are in that party.

Males and females have same animation in MassEffect. Call it anyway you want I call it lazy.

Can't really say I care about sex-specific animations, but a faster jog speed and less wonky-looking running would be nice.

Femshep doesn't walk like a guy - that walk/run is clearly not human

ME2 she ran like a crippled gorilla.

ME3 she runs like a crippled gorilla that's crapped itself.

IMO it doesn't look any better on male Shep.

That's how I run in real life. I run very slowly by the way.

I personally think that in both cases ( male/ female ) the animation looks off, and worse than the ones we got in the previous games. And after watching that gif for a while I know what it makes it wrong... the hips don't move properly.

When you run, if your right leg goes forward the right side of the hip also does, causing a rotation of the hip with the spine as the center, leading the left side of the hip backwards along with the leg used as a stand point.

If you pay attention to Shepard hips in that gif, you can clearly see that they don't present that slight rotation.

Not sure if I made myself clear...

It is awful indeed. Is it so difficult just to stick to the ME1 animations? I mean these guys must see that it got worse with each sequel :P

The comparison between Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Naruto has just shattered what little positive outlook I had in life. Now there is nothing left. Time to die.

So frakin true...

Considering how Bioware apparently thinks women run in DA2, this is a blessing in disguise.

Yeah, It's cut & paste.

Looks like LadyHawke received better treatment than FemShep.

Go figure.

I thought everyone hated Lady Hawke's animations and thought they were oversexualized?

Yeah who knows how cyborgs are suposed to run. These animations are most likely placeholders tho, ME2 animations were motion capture which usually dont make it into preview builds.

I don't know anything about lady hawk but I don't want her walking like the fallout protagonist that was too runway I'd like her to walk, run, sit, ect like she did in ME that was decent so long as she moves normal that's all I want and most other posters too.

And what's with Anderson's running animation?

That animation has to be the funniest running animation I have ever seen in my entire life.

It really doesn't look that different from Miranda's running animation to me. Miranda always had out a pistol-like weapon and I always thought she, and every other character with that weapon selection, looked awkward running.

None of the characters that carried rifles looked nearly as bad.

One of the developers said that you cant even holster your weapon in me3, so i dont think that "the shepard walk" is just a placeholder for the demo

Mass Effect 3 Boss: We need to make run animations for the characters. Do we have motion captures for people running?
Mass Effect 3 Animator: No, we have captures for bow-legged horses with brain damage though.
Mass Effect 3 Boss: Close enough!

Yeah the run/walk animations suck, also the whole sounding like a 3 ton War Mech instead of the light pitter patter of human steps is also a bit freaky.
