Origin is pathetic - just installed it to try your demo - can't even connect to the store!

OMG.

Worst DEMO launch in history...

This Origin client is terrible.

I downloaded it. Logged in somehow after much frustration remembering whether I had an EA password or a bioware password or whatever. Then it throws up a bunch of errors about "invalid cache". I'm thinking... "WTF I just installed this. Onto my OS harddrive. How can there already be an issue?". Then I press the "store" button and nothing happens....

So I restart my PC. This time it doesn't throw the cache error. This time it connects to the store page after ~20 seconds of lag. Then slowly some images download. I click on steam, all the store items are INSTANTLY clickable and I can see ~25 different games and waaaaay better sorting of said products. I look back at Origin... the only ME3 game I can see I have to click the back button to find, it doesn't show anything but the digital deluxe...

I click on the digital deluxe within Origin... it then takes another 20 seconds to load (this is on the fastest internet available in my country), it then tells me it costs $99.99 UNITED STATES DOLLARS. WTTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Seriously?

I can spend about $40 and have the game arrive at my doorstep only 1 day after launch and be ready to play. You're seriously going to charge me 2.5 x the real price? OMG. No. And make me use your pathetic client?

Then... supposably I'm meant to get BF3 for free if I preorder... but it isn't listed anywhere amongst all the other BS preorder bonuses... so... do I trust you?

Quite simply, NO.

This is pathetic. I haven't even tried to download the demo yet... Please release a version of ME3 that doesn't require Origin then I might show up. K thx bye. Image IPB

The client indeed needs A LOT of work. But people's been pointing out flaws for months, and not much has changed so really, what can you do...

So you don't want tech support then?

I guess this is just pointless ranting. Can a mod please get rid of this before it gives anyone else a migraine like i have now.

It's not pointless ranting. Origin client HAS a lot of technical issues. For crying out loud, EA even flat out admits it's just a beta. If they release games with Origin tied to it, then people can expect it should work well, don't you think?

err no Moon was referring to the OP not actually asking or needing technical support. this is the tech support section. you ask for help not post rants about the fallacy of Origin

No, I am honestly wanting them to tell me why I should purchase their game if they are not going to patch the client that I'm supposed to install just to "try" their demo. Let alone hand over money. If it is this shabby then I don't think it is worth my time.

You have yet to provide a tech support request with full details so nobody can help you. This is not a soapbox for you to air your problems about being unable to get Origin to work. There are threads for that elsewhere. If you don't want help please rant in the appropriate thread.

No one asked you to be the forum police, you don't speak for all of us so drop the high and mighty attitude, thx.

... more than you think - don't buy ME3.
