The two "new" game modes are just modified versions of the previous playstyle anyway.
Action Mode = RPG Mode with autodialogue
Story Mode = RPG Mode with trivially easy combat

Action mode is an insult to the Mass Effect series

Let's see, I can play half the game in one mode, play the other half the game in the other mode or play the entire game as it was meant to be played.
Really, like this is any choice at all.

Since I'm not retarded I think I'll end up picking RPG Mode.

action mode
i mean the only problem with mass effect is that it actually makes you choose what the main character says all the time! what the hell? i thought this was a shooter!
and what the ****s up with those smurfs anyway.

For the PC demo, i didn't see to much difference between the RPG and Story modes, other than the auto level up. Haven't tried the action mode yet. I'm also not a fan of the God of War like transition to (plot) cutscenes like when the Reaper shot the building after you meleed the husks or when sheppard force opens the door befrore meeting the kid in the ducts, tho the explosion of the cruiser was a lot better. I guess it needs some getting use to. The new cover system seems pretty awful, until i get the hang of it. I keep rolling over to spots i cannot get cover or rolling to cover when i want to get out of cover to use a door or something. And last the textures seem too change from scene to scene, at least in Anderson's case. Sometimes i barely see him moving his mouth, other times he looks better than Sheppard.

That's an easy question, RPG mode, the way Mass Effect is meant to be played

Roleplaying mode of course. I see no reason to play those other two silly modes.

RPG. No question.

If you play action it defaults to being a soldier.

RPG.
Honestly don't even understand why they offer the other two modes. You can alter the difficulty and auto-dialog toggle in options anyway.

RPG mode for me, I honestly can't imagine playing the other versions. The "Action" playstyle is just so unnatural for someone used to Bioware games!

Starting with a story mode playthrough followed by RPG mode on Insanity difficulty. I don't do middle difficulties I only play highest and lowest.

RPG, as if anyone's going to play anything else.

RP. I can't even believe they put the other two options in

RPG mode only. Action mode takes away the whole point of playing, and Story mode automatically levels your character up.

Posté 16 février 2012 - 11:06
Role Playing. Always Role Playing.
#73
Posté 16 février 2012 - 11:07
There is no question about always RPG mode. That's why I play Bioware games cause they are RPG's.

Posté 16 février 2012 - 11:09
Action mode. Then if i have time, Story mode. Then, if the games is so astounding that it warrants a 3rd play through, another run through Action Mode.
