This is just how BSN rolls. It will get alot worse after the game ships, giant essays on why ME3 isn't an RPG, complaints about boob size, something some guy said in the game doesn't make sense, PC gamers feel cheated, PS3 gamers feel cheated, too much fan service, not enough fan service, not enough sex scenes, didn't get fries with their burger, the political situation in Peru.....It will be wall to wall whining for weeks if not months. Positive stuff will be kept to one or two threads so it looks like theres more people unhappy than happy.

Haha, I wouldn't be too surprised if some debates do actually derail like that. Maybe it's better to see some topics as comedy rather than drama~

@Fandango9641 Thanks mate~

think this is bad? wait till the release.

I'm wondering how opposite the metacritic userscore will be to the "professional" reviews.

I think it's a matter of age. I notice a lot of younger fans settling for gaps in Bioware's writing whereas older fans are less forgiving. I'm 25 and in the business of writing stories. I can't really get around the way Bioware chose to handle the entire intro level, because I can't picture a group of grown men sitting around a table and looking at what's quite frankly a rather childish script and go "this works."

What I can imagine them doing is sitting around that same script and saying "It's horrible, but **** it, we'll cash big anyway."

Which is probably what happened.

24 here. Similar business. Didn't think it was horrible.

Let's agree not to read one-another's works.

I'm 19, which isn't as old as some of the people here, but I've been playing RPGs since I was six years old. I still enjoy what I've played of the game, and some of what I've seen in the old version of the script. Nothing's perfect, but I like to focus on the positives.

There is an aweful lot of backlash going around here lately... then again, MP got a lot of heat for possibly taking away from the main game... so even the smallest of slips will get heavy scrutiny.

The games sound is possibly it's greatest implementation, but its visuals in terms of character models and environments are very much more of the same. I put in ME2 and the graphics are fundamentally identical. The only point I would like to address is the lighting in the game has been very much improved.

The graphics looked fine to me. Of course, I'm playing with an old x1650 Pro, so I didn't really want a big graphics upgrade

As for combat, the melee was the only aspect with sound results. Aiming, pop-shooting, and AI contribution during combat were not impressive. I don't think I had as much difficulty taking down an enemy in ME1 or ME2 Insanity difficulty as I did with the demo on Normal difficulty. The demo just wreaked of poor game mechanics.

So you're saying that the combat was harder (good), just in a bad way?

I thought the AI was much better than ME2's -- companions were much more sensible about cover.

I'm 24 and apparently I "settle" for their writing too. I'm a pretty fair writer myself, although I've never been paid to write for games, so I can't speak on that directly. I didn't find it to be terrible writing, just as I haven't found ME1 or 2 to be terrible. Are they on-par with award-winning movies? Probably not, but in the context of a deep story in a relatively long game, the writing is pretty decent as a whole.

A couple points: One, people are so quick to praise Drew and hate on Mac. You do realize that there are a team of writers on this, right? You don't have a clue which writer wrote the basis of the dialogue for which levels, and so on. Sure, the guy who ultimately signs off on all of it changed but most of the team is undoubtedly the same, probably with several additions to create those 40,000 lines of dialogue.

Secondly, terms like "cliche" and "cheesy" get thrown around altogether too often around here. "Let's get the hell out of here" is cliche? What should he have said? We're talking about a stoic hero that in two games traditionally doesn't mince words. He says what's on his mind and gets to the point. If it was Joker, I would expect something more along the lines of, "Umm, yeah, maybe we should, uh ... leave, before we all die a fiery death". Ultimately that line is true to the character we know. If you all can come up with better lines for these supposedly cliche ones, I'd love to hear them.

There will always be that crowd of people that have to voice their negativity as loud as possible with a new game. Some do have legitimate concerns, others are just too picky and whiny. Many people hold high expectations for the ME franchise as I do myself, but I still try to keep an open mind and not let expectations ruin a game that could still be fun.

If 25 is considered old for gaming then the people who have been gamers since the Magnavox Odyssey are considered fossiles.
Age has nothing to do with personal tastes in writing. I know plenty of people who are much older than me (I'm 22) and think that Twilight is the best thing ever. And trust me, I have my own criticisms about the writing for the Mass Effect series (especially for ME2) and other BioWare games (such as Dragon Age 2). However, my criticisms don't change the fact that I enjoy the series for what it is.

I enjoyed it to an extent. Just would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't rolling everywhere when I meant to take cover, and I would have loved it if it had 360 controller compatibility for PC.

Not quite so bad, but that comes with more and more people coming in.  This is the basic pattern though.  Things are rather decent until about a month or two from release, and then it's a mess from a week or so from release until 8-10 months down the line.

You can use the 360 controller on a PC but you need the Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows.
If you have a wired controller though then all you need to do is hook it up to your PC.

And as far as I know, as long as the game is meant for windows the 360 controller should work.

Honestly, playing 1 and 2, the Mass Effect 3 demo was good. Now for the people complaining on the forums, they are just scared because it felt NEW. That "new" feeling took a little bit for me to get used to, but after a while, it felt great.

Yeah, I'm in my thirties and I really don't have a problem with the writing. I wish I was as wise as I was in my early to mid twenties though, now I'm just senile.

giving feedback is giving feedback. sometimes feedback is negative if the person does not like something. this is a normal thing that humans do. just because some people are cool with bad animations and textures doesn't mean everyone else is cool with it. people will complain and they have every right to especially since they were asked for their feedback.

it's totally fine that some of you are fanboys that will defend ea/bioware to the death but please do not insult those who decide to criticize something in hopes that it will be changed.

but some of you pc guys need to chill with the insulting the console community. i'm a pc gamer, always have always will be but i don't go around insulting consoles or the people that game on them. we are all gamers playing video games..they are same damned thing basically. cpu/gpu/memory/hd..main difference is the case and controller and techy crap but its nothing to go all warlike over

It's pretty simple, the people who like the demo probably don't bother to post as much because this is what happens:

A negative post appears.
Someone who likes the demo posts in it.
That person gets laughed at and insulted.

That won't bother some people, but it will bother others.

I wouldn't worry about it, people make up their own minds about things. Someone beating the drum all day that something sucks won't change my mind if I've played it and enjoyed it. Same probably goes for most folks.

I'm 60 and just love the ME games. Thank you for allowing me to become richly engrossed in such a dynamic universe with so many different characters, diversity of backgrounds and stories.

Though the upcoming completion of the ME3 saga of the "Shepard" trilogy is bittersweet, I look forward with great anticipation and excitement of a new dawn unfolding in future ME lore.

To Casey, Chris, Jarrett, Mods, Devs, Writers, VA's, and ALL of the Bioware team -- thank you!

What's wrong with being negative and complaining about something you don't like? Are we suppose to just sit back and pretend every thing is okay?

Nope.  The game will not support it because apparently Bioware didn't have enough time to do it.  "Dev realities" and such.

My wallet realities has changed from pre-order to whenever Origin has a $5 sale.  I can't support laziness and a complete lack of foresight.  Too many studios get away with churning out shoddy products because of "high dev costs" and "not enough time" but are still content charging me full price.  Nah.

I'm 33 and i've enjoyed the Demo. However i did have 1 scathing critizism to the line about no strategy or tactics. (I'm also a former Marine Infantryman so i'm pretty picky about military stuff) i have 1 lesser critizism also that the into had almost no choice in dialogue. That is one of the characteristics that makes ME awsome. Some have said that stuff was ommited because its a demo, i hope so. but i will still be playing.

My negativity comes from a Field of View absolutely unacceptable for a PC game, if they fix it I will change negativity for hope.
