I seriously don't know what this is, but I'm POSITIVE that this is not a hardware issue. I can play the game as many times as I want with a female Shepard, custom or default. But I can't play as a Male Shepard, custom or default. I can play through the first half of the game, but when I get to Sur'Kesh, just after the first cutscene, the game freezes up and crashes. No warning message, just comes up with 'ME3 DEMO NOT RESPONDING'

Weird. I've done male sheps and no issue. But curious for more information to see if I can get this to happen to.

What class is your male shep?

What options do you have set? I've only done role playing as Action is not ME to me and Story is too weak of enemies.

Odd my demo crashes if I want to play as fem shep and I can't even get beyond choosing gender at the begining if I select female on the gender screen the gmae fails to load and crashes with windows telling me the demo has stopped working.

If I select male I can continue on but since I never play males that's not helpful to me.

What error message do you get in your logs for the crash?

Did an origin repair and that fixed the issue have now completed the demo twice without encountering any other crashes or bugs...

No logs were created that I could find so not sure what was happening I can play now though.

There's no logs or anything and it isn't based on class either. It is based SOLELY on the factor of if I want to play a male Shepard or not. I use the exact same settings as I do for FemShep, and have tried mixing them up in case one of those was the issue. Role-Playing, Graphics, that sort of stuff.

I get a message that says that ME3 demo is no longer responding and that it is closing out, standard windows.

Sometimes I also get a notice that DEP closed the game forcefully, but only sometimes. I'm going to try and fix install like Tayah said.
