in retail version, it is said that we can export our maxed out multiplayer char to aid in single player game as war asset.

my question is this, when i export my maxed lvl char, do i lose that char permanently for me to play in multiplayer, or worse do i lose the UNLOCKED SPECIES/CHARACTER SLOT permanently?   this 2nd part concerns me the most, all unlocks are random, if i lose my unlocked new species/character by exporting, i will refuse to export at all.  i will keep my hard earned unlock characters, thank you very much.

any info would be appreciated.

What makes you think that "exporting" a MP character for use in your SP game, would also delete it?

Ask yourself "Does exporting an ME1 save to ME2 delete the ME1 save?" >__>

the thing is it's kind of different, in this game, each multiplayer char has a name. and so if you have unlocked every char, you only have 24 char slots. 24 unique chars, if they don't delete them after you export you will only have 24 chars, what if bioware thinks that some gamers might want to have more than 24 chars as war asset?

Lets just say, don't count on losing your character, and if its too terrible a risk to take, try it on one of the default races, so you don't have to risk losing anything but points. Odds are though, it won't happen.

yeah that's what i plan to do, i think it makes sense that game will delete your export character, but will NOT delete your unlocked species/character slot.

I wouldn't even worry about it. I seriously doubt they'll even delete your character...unless (s)he dies once imported or something. I was about to say it'd be a good way to increase replayability, but I still haven't quite convinced my self that that would be so.

Im guessing once you export it, you have to start that class from zero. Im sure you get to keep your character unlocks, but you will have to level it up to 20 again.

Why? Leaderboards. Since there are only 6 classes and 20 levels, then once eveyrone maxes out all of them, their N7 rank is going to be 120...and cant go up any higher. So what would be the point in leaderboards, if everyone is level 120 after a few weeks? But, if you had to start from 1 again in a class, then the leaderboards will continue to increase and show who is leveling up characters the most, putting the time in.

I really doubt they'd get rid of your character once you promoted it. I'm thinking that character might be limited to only one import per SP career.
