It's fine if they want the default to be the jack of all actions, but please make it so we're able to break it down and rebind different things. For example I don't want my "use" key to also be my "combat roll"

You could do that with ME2 (on PC).
Has anyone looked into the config (or whatever file) to change keys? I hated those times in ME2 when you tried to run to the other side of the room but ended up getting cover because you got too close to a wall
I hope this can be fixed (like in ME2). A one-button-for-everything sounds pretty crappy (imho).

No you couldn't. You could rebind keys, but you couldn't break them up. If one key did several things depending on context, you couldn't assign those different functions to different keys.Shepard the Leper wrote...

Mh, happened to me on the Surkesh Mission... ended in front of a usable item, couldnt use it (combat?) but couldnt go into cover (because of the usable item?) either... if this is a major problem in MP, this got to be adressed.

Blast from the past.
You can separate out the actions if you edit the coalesced file. At least on PC. I have "Use" separated out and bound to T. So my Shift key only sprints and goes in and out of cover.
