Loved the prelude sequence, though the new "shipboard" uniforms for the Alliance make them look like a biker leathers, rather than the original shipboard uniforms of ME1.

Prelude play was clean, though the husks climbing up the side of the building while Anderson is razing me about forgetting how to shoot made me want to frag Anderson a a microsecond. The child in the duct was both reminicent of Mouse, in ME2 and Nute in Aliens. It was heartbreaking. I'm still curious to see how an import plays out in the prelude vs. a new character since conversation was VERY general about why Shepard was in confinement.

The later combat sequence on the Salarian homeworld went by pretty darn fast on Role Play level, and the dialogue scenes seemed somewhat spliced together. I'm attributing this to the nature of the demo. It was nice to see more of Wrex and some of the old team. Made me want to start quoting Blues Brothers, which is a good thing.

On the evolution of the graphics... I'm reserving full judgement until I can see what it does to my imports' faces, but tentatively I like it, at least for the mobs/npcs. In fact, I wouldn't mind if there was a way for the DA team to er borrow the new graphic engine ME3 uses. So I guess I'm for it.

Other than that, it's going to be a hard wait, considering I'm waiting on the promise of the reward we get (RP wise I hope), if we stayed true to our LI from ME1.... Ah Kaiden, it's good to have you back, and being a major, does he rank her now, because a commander in Naval structure is equal to a major in  Marine/Army/Air Force, at least in the US and I think in the UK, so by either one of those Shepard should still out rank him due to seniority.

As for the stuff at the beginning about not referring to rank or saluting, even officers in hock are treated with the respect of their rank until it's taken from them, same with inactive status, as I understand it... But I'm a military buff, so I nitpick, but it's only because I love you guys.

Last but not least: Martin Sheen!!!!! President Bartlett goes evil!

Stay tuned....

Im excited, although I wish I didnt play. Now it feels like a giant tease. Now if only they could go back and remake ME1 and ME2 gameplay into that and then I'd be able to play all three in a row.

No, Kaiden does not outrank Commander Shepard, since she is a Spectre, and therefore has precedence over all races' military personnel. Also, it depends on the branch of the military as well, as a captain on her on ship is in charge of it.

But ooooh yeah I liked it. The corridor on the Salarian homeworld where you face a pair of engineers and some others killed me the first time since I treated it like ME3 (Vanguard CHAAAARGE!).

Next time around I used an overload, a singularity in there, then charged down the parallel room to take out the engineers, then took out the turrets.

I like the new tighter combat. In the end of the earth mission, the abominations kept trying to flank around my cover.

I'm gonna make it short. Love the franchise, loved the demo. I can only point out 4 things that i didn't enjoyed: - getting hit while in cover, no health recover, being punished for looting in a area for too long and the most frustrating one... the grenade spam on insane is ridiculous.

Without health regeneration i don't see how vanguards are going to play in ME3. Definitely not like ME2, we will see...

I've seen commentary that says that Kaiden also got recruited as a Spectre, and according to ME1 they're both Marines even though Commander is a rank pretty much used exclusively in navies. It makes my head hurt.

My only frustration was playing an infiltrator first time around and not having a sniper rifle. That made me want to scream. ME2 made the sniper rifle user friendly and it became my favorite weapon, especially the Widow with warp ammo.

I didn't have that problem with the abominations, I just kept trying to use my blade on everybody who came in range. I love the blades... And tightening on the combat was great. Also the fact med gel will now heal Shepard, instead of having to wait that tick behind cover. So very nice... I missed that from ME1.

Noticed they didn't reveal any of the mini games like hacking or decrypt in ME1 and 2...

But they can't show everything, I know...

As for the demo being a tease... of course it is. It's a huge, dance of the seven veils tease to make us crazy for the sixth.

And while I haven't tried it yet, is it possible to play the multiplayer maps locally on Xbox? I finally got my husband to try ME and he's now hooked, so it'd be nice to be able to do the mp maps together. Geek couple bonding at its best :).
