Claymore X with barrel V and Smartchoke V + AP ammo + Geth Infiltrator Hunter mode maxed for damage + Maxed proxy mine for damage = Easy mode on Gold.

Interesting timing. What prompted this post, I wonder?

But, it's so true.  And don't forget cloak! Unf~

Anyway. This thread is like 2 months old, innit? I haven't seen it in the past week or so, so someone necro'd it. :o Hopefully by now OP knows better, though.

Because I did it and it's so easy it's almost a cheat. Shotguns ignore shieldgate so it's easier than to snipe. You just run up, cloak, proxy and shoot. And anything is dead or near dead.

Well yes, I'm sure. But I was referring to the timing--you post that right after we finish a match where I used that exact setup (well, technically I took vision and speed as HM's rank 6, so not entirely maxed for damage, but still). Just thought it funny!

This is good. No one likes the claymore. So it won't get nerfed.

I however, and only a handful of others, realize the full potential of the gun. If you don't like the claymore, then move on. If i constantly get top score with my Claymore Geth Infiltrator on Gold, then that just means most of you aren't using the gun right. Yeah, I said that right. I produce more DPS than gps, gral, etc when I use a claymore.

Close-range shotgun/melee infiltrator. That is where it's best. Vanguards are no longer heavy-shotgun classes. They're hit and run maniacs. Infiltrator is the highest damage-dealer now, except for MAYBE Krogan or Turian Soldiers. Batarians come close though.

Claymore + Character w/o cloak = "C'mon, LOAD! LOAD! GO! FASTER!"

I use to hate shotguns. They were (and still kind of are) my least used gun.

However, I decided to play my cryo/shotgun infiltrator in MP. Why not use a claymore? Wow...just wow. I've never used a weapon that ignores shield gate. Being able to kill a nemesis outright is just fantastic. Taking out chunks of shields on an atlas and one shotting phantoms..wow. I never used the gun until now (even in ME2, never touched the gun). It's fantastic. Although, I don't think I'll like it in ME2 lol. It's just for MP for me.

When you learn about reload canceling you're going to feel awfully foolish about writing that. :P

Or using it on a Human Soldier. There's not a lot more satisfying than pumping out two Claymore shots in less than a second.

Practicality can take a back seat. The claymore is just 1000x more entertaining than a GPS or Graal.

I use it on my human infiltrator and krogan sentinel, love it. It's also the gun I bring with me when I promote and run a few bronze matches to level up.

I have a level X Claymore and I can absolutely testify on Bryan's behalf. I really feel there's just no better weapon on a human Infiltrator. It's brutal.

I have to admit I had to check to see what I wrote, but yes it is awesome

Does not hold a candle to GPS/Graal infiltrator.

Especially if you're a geth infiltrator with hunter mode and the GPS.  I often use my black widow on my GI, but things are pretty lulzy with the GPS on him too.

On top of doing more damage, the GPS and graal are simply much safer for an infiltrator to use.  Their range is simply nuts.

Opinions are not facts. I have a Graal X and a GPS X too, and I still prefer the Claymore X on a human Infiltrator. Its range is completely comparable and so is its kill-speed as long as you know how to reload cancel with Cloak (which is less of a hassle than charging shots still).

I'm using the 20% reduction passive and with Claymore only my power recharge time is +11%. With Katana only it is 133%...

And yeah, I know it will be good against the Atlas, but it doesn't really make much sense - if there's 2 phantoms around you, you'll die cause you will either be reloading or you won't be able to charge. Scimitar/Katana will take care of that situation no problem. So how come Claymore, a very rare very powerful shotgun is nowhere near as versatile as a STARTER shotgun. Again, what's the point of using it?

you said it well

in ME2 this was the weapon on Insanity mode. I used it and nothing else. In fact there's great youtube videos of people using the Claymore. I really liked it in ME2

but in ME3 - it's really bad. It's mechanics needs to be fixed just so we can enjoy the gun back the way it was in ME2.

I dub the Claymore the Boss-Bane. I use it with a Human Soldier. Put a AR in one hand and a Claymore in the other. Use the AR for the regular mob and the claymore for Atlas, Brutes, Banshees, Geth Primes not so much cause I usually go Salarian Infiltrator for them.

Sorry dude.. I do understand your anguish. It used to be a boss but now nobody uses it and the ones who do get pooped on.

How about this?:
- In the next multiplayer DLC, well throw in a Krogan Adept with a passive power much like the Geth, in which the claymore will be able to get up to a max of 15% extra damage and weigh half as much. In addition we'll give him a biotic style melee and some nice powers to compliment CQB. Somewhere around the lines on warp and stasis, maybe barrier as a third; Who knows?
...
Anyhow that's what I would say and do if I were a super nice dev with control over future DLC ;)
 Pretty pl0x? <3:innocent:<3

though I understand. It's a very good tactic.

The Infiltrator "perks" are for Sniper Rifle. Anyway, just saying, it's something that is brought up and I'm with the majority on those who loved the ME:2 Claymore

Let's run the numbers w/ my Claymore SI: http://narida.pytalh...es/#41PAKRRS9@0
(I took the Sniper Perk since the Bonus Power is useless for my playstyle and lets me switch hit w/o respeccing)...

+15% SO Weapon Damage Bonus
+90% Tactical Cloak Bonus
+x40% Base Damage for Sniper Rifle
+20% Head Shot
+25% Extended Barrel
+30% AP3
+x250% Base Damage for Head Shot

Claymore X = 206dmg x 8 pellets Base Damage
w/ cloak:
206 * 8 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.25 + 0.3) = 4284.8 dmg (shield gate bypass in 535.6 dmg segments)
Headshot w/ cloak:
206 * 8 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.2 + 0.25 + 0.3) * 2.5 = 11536 dmg (shield gate bypass in 1442dmg segments)

Widow X = 1083.8 dmg
w/ cloak:
1083.8 * 1.4 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.25 + 0.3) = 3945.032 dmg (no shield gate bypass)
Headshot w/ cloak:
1083.8 * 1.4 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.2 + 0.25 + 0.3) * 2.5 = 10621.24 dmg (no shield gate bypass)

Even w/ the 40% base damage Sniper Rifle perk, the Claymore still does more damage (and it bypasses the shield gate, allowing you to both one-shot enemies that otherwise you wouldn't be able to - say a Phantom, Pyro (or Hunter w/o Max ED and a PA2+) that can't be ED'd in one go. You can also one-shot pretty much anything that can be head-shotted even without ED. Pretty awesome.

One note is that since you'll want to use the smart choke (and the extended barrel), against armored enemies you subtract 120 dmg if you're using AP3 or 400 dmg w/o AP ammo - note, even on a cloaked head shot w/o any AP, you still do more damage w/ a Claymore X than a Widow X. (Excepting the shield gate point, this is only useful against Primes I guess)

Of course you lose some range, and your actual damage is usually lower w/ pellet spread, so it's really up to playstyle for what you choose.

Damn Seifer006, its like you're from 2 months ago when this thread was created. Let you in on a little secret......the gun isn't meant for power spamming classes. Infiltrators benefit hugely from this shotgun. Love the gun on the 2nd game, its even better now.

Also, out of all of the infiltrators skills that can be taken, 2 are for sniper rifles. One for more damage, which can be taken on cloak even if you do run a shotgun class so you can switch weapons on the whim, and one for less weight on sniper rifles which is useless considering that most snipers cloak then fire right away, almost always giving them a 3 second charge time on cloak. plus when you take that, you're robbing yourself of weapon damage.

As the guy a few post above me noted, putting a smart choke on this pretty much lets you quickly kill anything within like 30 meters in front of you, only rivaled for distance by the geth plasma shotgun and graal

Do yourself a favor and search for claymore topics and or youtube videos of the claymore in action before making a judgement on it.
