Infiltrator Claymore that is all I am going to say
though I understand. It's a very good tactic.
The Infiltrator "perks" are for Sniper Rifle. Anyway, just saying, it's something that is brought up and I'm with the majority on those who loved the ME:2 Claymore
Let's run the numbers w/ my Claymore SI:
http://narida.pytalh...es/#41PAKRRS9@0 (I took the Sniper Perk since the Bonus Power is useless for my playstyle and lets me switch hit w/o respeccing)...
+15% SO Weapon Damage Bonus
+90% Tactical Cloak Bonus
+x40% Base Damage for Sniper Rifle
+20% Head Shot
+25% Extended Barrel
+30% AP3
+x250% Base Damage for Head Shot
Claymore X = 206dmg x 8 pellets Base Damage
w/ cloak:
206 * 8 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.25 + 0.3) = 4284.8 dmg (shield gate bypass in 535.6 dmg segments)
Headshot w/ cloak:
206 * 8 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.2 + 0.25 + 0.3) * 2.5 = 11536 dmg (shield gate bypass in 1442dmg segments)
Widow X = 1083.8 dmg
w/ cloak:
1083.8 * 1.4 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.25 + 0.3) = 3945.032 dmg (no shield gate bypass)
Headshot w/ cloak:
1083.8 * 1.4 * (1 + 0.15 + 0.9 + 0.2 + 0.25 + 0.3) * 2.5 = 10621.24 dmg (no shield gate bypass)
Even w/ the 40% base damage Sniper Rifle perk, the Claymore still does more damage (and it bypasses the shield gate, allowing you to both one-shot enemies that otherwise you wouldn't be able to - say a Phantom, Pyro (or Hunter w/o Max ED and a PA2+) that can't be ED'd in one go. You can also one-shot pretty much anything that can be head-shotted
even without ED. Pretty awesome.
One note is that since you'll want to use the smart choke (and the extended barrel), against armored enemies you subtract 120 dmg if you're using AP3 or 400 dmg w/o AP ammo - note, even on a cloaked head shot w/o any AP, you still do more damage w/ a Claymore X than a Widow X. (Excepting the shield gate point, this is only useful against Primes I guess)
Of course you lose some range, and your actual damage is usually lower w/ pellet spread, so it's really up to playstyle for what you choose.
