Let me also point out I dont think there is anyone out there that has a level 10 claymore either. Has anyone looked to what leveling the claymore has. All I know is my level 3 claymore is +2% cooldown on my human vanguard.

If it weren't for the Paladin and the Claymore, I don't even know which guns I would use...

Also, if you're hunkered down in cover up front, taking fire for the team, it's a similar situation. You can only pop up for a second anyway. If you were using something else, your DPS would take a major hit. But with the Claymore, popping up for only a second doesn't hurt your DPS at all--it all goes out with that one shot.
The whole thing with slow-fire weapons is to use positioning to emphasize their strengths and de-emphasize their weaknesses. You only expose yourself for the split second it takes to make your shot, then disappear. That way, you'll only take a little bit of pew pew and drop OHKO bombs in return. If there's a lot of trash on the field, you focus on tougher ones so your weapon potential isn't wasted on overkill (or use your powers instead depending on your class), and let teammates that focused on powers or faster weapons take down the smaller units. If field has been cleared of tough units and it's just the trash left, yes, you are somewhat less efficient (but not drastically so). But by that point the wave has pretty much been won already anyway.

Why would anyone use any weapon? Because it fits with what they want to do, thats why.

put it on an infiltrator and watch the destruction.
on my Geth infiltrator i use nothing else, it fits in perfectly with a cloak cycle, not to mention if a prime or atlas is giving you hassle, you can cloak, prox mine, shoot.
might take a cloak cycle or two but that sucker is toast

But the reload time isn't that slow. It's a shotgun so you don't even really ahve to aim. I've never thought of it as a main offensive weapon but more of a last-resort or support weapon if I get overwhelmed. I use the Revenant with a stability mod otherwise.
The damage it does is absolutely insane. Below Gold, without the shield barrier thingy (I assume readers know what I'm talking about) it can one-shot pretty much anyone. On Gold, it'll probably take two shots, but the blowback to enemies allows for a second to do the reload.
As I said I normally play as an infiltrator so compared to the widow/mantis, the claymore's reload seems faster for some reason. So it never bothered me that much.

This is an old thread based on the demo. Claymore's damage has been buffed since this thread was made. Whoever cast the necro spell on this thread should not have done it. That said, I absolutely love Claymore in ME3, just like I did in ME2. Even the reload trick made it back. Yay!
The Reload Trick? Every time I tried doing that i Kept punching which impacted my mobility and it hurt as I don't have Kaiden's Barrier as a bonus power...Anyone know how to get that qucikish?

You press the medigel button to cancel the reload. Soon as the thermal clip enters the chamber.
You can also cancel it using a power. Tactical Cloak is a good choice as you can slip straight into the damage bonus from the cancelled reload.
