It was underwhelming. Nobody knew about reload cancel, and people tried using it on Vanguards at level 1.

ME2 Claymore Vanguard was a beast.

ME3 Novaguard with a level 1 old Claymore was...disappointing. Also no one knew how to Novaguard (dem i-frames) properly.

I use it as a Krogan Soldier/Sentinel weapon.

I usually melee spec them so the close range punch is doubled with the Claymore.

However anything with an instakill that can move fast is a drama. Phantoms especially if you aren't raging.

Banshees you can sit on a ramp all day and shoot and melee. No ramps though with an empty clip + a sneaky banshee? Dead.

Reload cancelling saves you a second at most. It gets badly affected by lag too as with other shotguns.
