Ubisoft has announced Assassin's Creed 3[/i] and they even announced its release date. You'll be reunited with Desmond on October 30, 2012. The confirmation of Assassin's Creed 3[/i] comes from an Ubisofot investor call. The entire AssCreed[/i] series has been building up to 2012 and the doomsday clock, so needless to say, I'm stoked.

We don't know the setting of Assassin's Creed 3[/i] but we'll be sure to let you know when we do.

Great, I don't even have the current Assassin's Creed game.

... Already?
I'm not even done with Brotherhood let alone even owning Revelations.

I've been waiting for that day for a long time. I haven't put my hands on an Assassin's Creed game since II. Perennial iterations, multiplayer, etc. dragged me away from that franchise...I'm glad they're getting the game made before the 2012 date, at least. Yay.

^ Along with the incredibly shortening play time.

Revelation took me ten hours.

Haven't bought an Assassin's Creed game since the second one. Ubisoft said they have been developing this game for three years. I find it hard to believe.

Revelations was great, and I really enjoyed the side story of Desmond's past. Hopefully the protagonist is as likeable as Ezio in the third.

Brotherhood and Revelations were handled by other Ubisoft studios with little guidance from the Montreal studio.

Brotherhood was probably the most "fun" to play, but Revelations was perhaps done for pure fan service for those of us who purely loved the AC lore.

To tell the truth, I prefer Revelations over Brotherhood.

There's only one big thing Brotherhood had over Revelations and that's the Da Vinci missions. Personally I loved Old Ezio, and the bomb crafting was really well done. It's my favorite in ther series, even if ! had the better setting, but the majority seemed to love Brotherhood the most.

Revelations was perfectly fun if you enjoy Assassin's Creed, it was just extremely short (it's mostly side missions), small (city-size), and didn't really add much while taking away some things. There's not really anything notably wrong with it, just nothing terribly spectacular when compared to the previous games.

Call me picky but how can it be called AC3 when there have already been 4 games released for the series? Is it supposed to be an indication that you get a new ye olde assassin in the animus?

Brotherhood and Revelations were intended to be like old school expansion packs. They added to Ezio's story more than to Desomond's, and he is still the main protagonist, it's always been Desmond's story. I didn't like the redesign they gave Desmond in Revelations though.

How many AC games before they turn completely sour?

I give them 2 tops.

As did I. I found Ezio's story rather uninteresting in Brotherhood. Revelations was a huge step up, in terms of the three major characters' development (Desmond, Altair, and Ezio).

For all the flack the AC series has been getting lately, I've still enjoyed each game immensely.

They've had five games, and it's been good so far. They haven't made any changes to make me think it would suddenly become bad.

Saw this coming.
I lost interest partway through Revelations.
I might go back to it but this is rediculous.

Of course I saw it coming so no surprise there..... Well I'm surprised its not coming sooner actually.

I'd love it if they set it in Industrial Revolution-era London. I can't think of very many (well, any, actually) games that have been set in that time period, and I think it'd be a neat place to clamber around in.

1789 France would be a perfect setting for Assassin's Creed I think or I'd love to see the Russian Revolution.

Fable 3 was industrial London with a fantasy paint job.

Old school expansion packs sold at full game prices. Brotherhood did add the multiplayer element, which was a big success from what I hear. (I don't do the multiplayer thing.) So as a whole package, perhaps Brotherhood was worth the price. Revelations, however, just wasn't.

But Revelations was marketed as that closure that some fans wanted for such beloved characters as Altair and Ezio. So... I don't know. I just know I don't want Assassin's Creed 3 to be anything like Revelations.

Anyway, the coordinates from Brotherhood lead them to New York, so my guess is American Revolution period for the next assassin's memories.
