Same problem here. EA customer support basically said merging accounts is not possible. I mention I have this BSN account that currenly has no Origin assocation, but the support rep said they can't help closed the chat on me before I could even mention http://social.biowar...e/account-help.

Yeah same problem, did they actually merge your two accounts together when anyone called??? Like everyone else, I have SW:TOR on one account and all my other games on another. Thanks!

Joining this thread... need to see some movement on here about this. As I posted in another thread, there are 4 websites that are all inter-associated with one another: Bioware, EA, Origin, and Mythic (Which is actually listed as EA/Mythic, go figure). Trying to get all of these accounts under one umbrella with all games in one place is proving to be very frustrating.

Well i've been talking to ea support for just over 4 hours now and it seems to not be possible anymore due to some changes in their privacy policy. So no more merging, deleting games from account A and registering it on B I'm afraid.

I have the same issue! I register all games in account A but buy games on Origin using account B, DAO/DAII/ME/MEII go well but now ME3 say I must use account B to play it! and EA Help doesn't respond me yet (I think it's still no use if they just reply "impossible to merge")

I actually tried this, but the demo was too old and the online support was removed. But even if it wasn't, they would have just automatically forced me to log into the EA email that I'm already using, and having trouble with. Gotta love EA.

I've been having a headache over this since I got the game on the 7th. EA REALLY loves to annoy you, don't they? Guess it's not enough to pay $90 for the Collector's Edition anymore.

I have no EA games on this account (besides ME3), so I don't really care about deleting the one I have and making another, but I heard that you might lose content you have for Mass Effect 3. If I lost some of the exclusive stuff I got from my Collector's Edition... I'd never touch another EA product again.

That's the only thing holding me back.

After a lengthy chat with EA support, I was told for account merging to work one of two thing needs to happen:

1) Change Origin's email ID to match BSN
2) Or change BSN ID to match Origin's email ID

Which of course can't be done user side because the other account's  'email address is already in use.' I've had this issue escalated to their email team, but I've yet to hear anything back since Wednesday (3/7/12) night.

There isn't an adequate icon in the world that can display how hard I hit myself in the face upon reading this.

I wonder if EA's going to do anything about it.

Nail on the head.  It seems like such a poxy little issue when put in those terms, but that's exactly the problem.  Is it so hard to sort?

Hmm... it sounds like support doesn't realize that we use Origin accounts to authenticate users here. If you are using an email address to log into this site that account is an Origin account.

The only problem on merging accounts might occur if you play SWTOR. Otherwise they should be able to do it.

They don't appear to help you very much. How do we get it done? And will we lose any CE content?

Still getting stonewalled by the Council EA support staff on merging accounts, but they were finally able to move ME3 from my Origin account to the BSN one. Took almost a week to get the game moved. Not the optimal solution, but enough for me at the moment.

As annoying as ME2 not connecting to the servers correctly on startup was, this is far far worse. Hopefully all this misinfomation between BSN and EA (or maybe just between EA and EA Support) gets fixed before ME3 gets any older.

Biswajeet: Thanks for contacting EA Help! My name is Biswajeet how may I help you?
you: Hello, I am trying to register my copy of Mass Effect 3, Collector's Edition, on BioWare's social forum, however it will not let me. I have figured out that the reason for this is because the email I have for my Xbox (bad email; which is 5 years old) is different than my EA/BSN email (goodemail; 2 years old). I would please like assistance to have the accounts merged into my good email. I would also like to express concern in not losing any of my Collector's Edition content.
Biswajeet: Please give me just a moment while I look into this further.
you: Sure, no problem.
Biswajeet: Thank you.
Biswajeet: Thank you for waiting. I'm sorry account merged would not be possible.
Biswajeet: But you can link old account to a new account.
you: Would I lose any data I have on my current save by doing that?
Biswajeet: Yes you might lose some.

Well, that was fun. I wish I could get ahold of the person that fixed you up Artius. I sent an email as well, maybe they'll be more... uhh... competent?

I  was going to post this in the thread that I started, but here works just as well.

When I was attempting to get this issue fixed (it still isn't -- I haven't even played my CE copy of ME3 yet), I  changed my password for my EA/Origin account (that ME3 is on).   Sometime later, I tried to log into TOR -- didn't work.  TOR, mind you, not the EA  or Origin sites.  Once I  tried using the new EA/Origin password -- yep, it worked.  So, they have essentially implemented a system that links your EA/Origin password, to your log in password for TOR.  My guess is that you'd use the same password for Battlefield 3, for example -- assuming it's linked to that account.

Does this have anything to do with the issues people are having?  No idea, but it might be.

On another note, is Bioware having any conversations with EA about this issue?  I think we're all sort of feeling "hung out to dry," here.  It'd be nice to know what (if anything) is being done to resvole the problem.  Contacting EA doesn't help, as the Live Chat people end the session immediately upon finding out what you want.  So, then you post on the forums, and they tell you to contact Live Chat.  Seriously?

I don't know about other people, but I don't have hours on top of more hours to kill, trying to get them to fix an issue that with a bit of planning, should have been prevented in the first place.

I will follow this thread to see if any of you have any luck as I want to merge my two accounts also. I JUST made a thread asking for help before I saw this one.

I contacted EA and they said they can't merge my BSN account with the EA account that I use on the 360 (different emails).

"Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts and letting us know about your issue.

I appreciate your interest in the game and assure you to provide the continual support throughout from my end.

Please accept my genuine apology for the way you have been made to feel. We at EA, strive to make our customers have an exceptional experience. Any deviation from this is dealt very critically. Your case definitely merits attention and I assure you my support in getting this sorted out.

I went through your issue. I wish to suggest you that account merge is not possible. Please try to understand it is something that is beyond the reach of my hand.

I wish I could help you in this. Trust me, had it been possible, I would have certainly processed your request.

I humbly ask for your understanding regarding this matter and I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. "

I've sent two emails to EA, the first reply didn't understand what I was asking. The second has responded with-
"I like to inform you that, it is not possible to merge BSN and EA account, but please let me know why you want to merge the accounts, look forward to your reply."

I guess Ankur and Rubul of EA help are going to deny that this is possible, even though Bioware has directed us to the help page informing us to ask EA to do so. I included the link to the help page in my email as well.

I.. have a similar but slightly stranger problem. I created a new origins account so I could preorder ME3. I'm SURE that I used the same email address that's associated with this account. I don't use any other email. And it let me use it. It didn't say that the email was already in use or anything. I didn't even know that I could use this account for Origins. (Probably should have looked into it, but I wasn't thinking about that at the time)

So when I log in here, it tells me I can log in using my Origins account, but I can't because it asks for the email address, not the account name, and both accounts use the same email.

Maybe I'm just going crazy, but this seems a lot more convoluted than it needs to be.

Thanks

Jesse did just message me but I am curious if any of you know how long it took to get this process done.

From talking to another user who is getting their account merged there is a bit of a backup in the queue so if you do get added it likely won't happen right away.

They also recommended calling EA support during business hours in North America as that worked out better for them.
