I bet you they just took it out without even a thought. Probably thought that it wouldn't matter at all. Sure, remove an RPG element to appease the pure combat crowd. It was in the last two installments!

I'm wondering how much memory the kinect "feature" needs ? I'm guessing more than 2-4 MBs...

And now it's gone, get over it :bandit:

It wasn't cut to appeal to the combat crowd, it was cut because of hardware limitations, and in that case it's always the aesthetical features that bit the dust first: gameplay>aesthetics

It will be VERY frustrating when enemies are defeated in an area, and you want to explore with weapon holstered (this game *is* supposed to have a huge RPG element, right?). Exploration was a big part of ME2. Now, you are constantly in a combat stance, like an idiot when you have cleared an area?

And I don't think gamers should have to "compromise" in the sense that, you are paying your money and you should be 100% satisfied with the product. Judging by the support and responses in this thread, it was important to a lot of people.

Bioware developers, are you reading this. Your fans are beggeing you to at least return one aspect that made Mass Effect such a joy for millions of fans. So please, listen (at least this one time) and give back the holster option. Not giving the players a choice, removes the RPG element. Instead, were as fans have to come to grips that the only way we will ever get the chance to exploar the Universe you created is through the barrow of a gun?

It's always hard for someone to judge how immersive their own work is, so I think Bioware just took it out thinking no one would mind.

As we know, however, it's the small things that count, and after playing the original Mass Effect yesterday I can safely say that this series has become less immersive and more cinematic in the sequels, probably closer to the team's original vision.
Perhaps they only ever saw Mass Effect as a cinematic experience. That would explain the loading screens, increased camera angles, 'mission complete' screen and cheesy Hollywood dialogue ripped straight out of the movies.

I'm sorry "now it's gone, get over it" no, no we will not get over it. Why don't you, get over the fact Mass Effect is not a (Halo, C.O.D, nor a Gears) style game? You cant, get over it. Becaue players like you, need to have weapons drawn 24/7 (even when you don't have to) only to satisy the desire to shoot at nothing.

You can keep convincing yourself that features are not cut to appease where the money is all you want. And I surely will get over it soon, by not purchasing this game. But right now, I am voicing my opinion and hey, maybe something "might" change.

If it doesn't, oh well I'll save my money. If they cut a gameplay feature that you really enjoyed, how would you feel? Especially if it was in the last two games. Would you just "get over it" and still pay your hard earned dollars? You probably would...sad.

Don't care if ME is not a Gearsq or Halo or whatever, I only care about the gameplay, maybe it ruins your immersion to not be able to holster weapons, mine is fine, and why BW should ever spend ressources for a puerly aesthetic feature witch doesn't have the leastest impact on the game whatsoever ?

Spend resources? What? What resources are they spending if this was in the last two games? And if it ruins someone's immersion experience, that by definition, means it has a big impact on the game to THEM.

You can run around with your gun pointed most of the game and be happy looking like an idiot. A lot of people disagree with you.

Yes spend ressources, after the game, ressources will be spend in patchs and DLC
Maaaaaaybe a holster weapon functionality will be avalible but I wouldn't count on it

Ok. So why are you in a Support thread for holstering again??? Not that that really matters, because you can do what you want. I just find it odd, that people come to a thread to defend BW, when it's clearly marked as a support thread for a feature that you don't give a ***t  about.

Yeah this is one of those things that isn't a deal breaker but more of an immersion breaker, in ME2 I would always holster my weapon after most firefights just so I could walk around and look at my surroundings or just look at Shepards armor & it always irked me that the squadies kept their weapons drawn, "guys theres no one here, lets chill out for a second!".

Please dev's if you cant put in the option to holster, than can we just have Shep lower his/her weapon like the squad mates do? :crying::crying::crying:

Agree. I am replaying ME2 on easy with an Adept to have one onboard for import.  I clear a room in about 5 seconds and typically holster to go scouting.  It's weird to see everyone holding weapons up, ESPECIALLY after one of them shouts some stupid response like "Looks like we got em".

I haven't played the demo, but one concern that may effect this ability to look around after a fight is this new enlarged Shepard on screen. I may be wrong, but from some screenshots, it seems Shepard takes up a much larger surface area than in previous games (not to mention the new shield/health indicator).  You guys that have played it may suggest otherwise.

I used it ALL the time.  I hate walking around pointing my gun at everything.

Rule #1 - you don't point your gun at something you don't intend to kill.

I really miss not being able to holster your weapons. Like many here I liked to holster my gun and give my shep a good look around. I'd much rather have that option than a few extra combat moves. Which in my opinion were nothing special.

I support this post!!!

It winds me up so much, im trying to look and admire the scenery and the battle, my gun sticking out and the reticle is so irritating.

Listen to your fans Bioware!

The memory excuse is laughable in the extreme, at least bring it to PC.... no limits here, 6GB!

Mass Effect 2 there was the routine, clean out area... holster..... look and admire.

With the camera pressed up on my back witht he out stretched gun and reticle its such a waste!
